Exciting news: on the new @Atos supercomputer currently being installed in Bologna in @RegioneER, the next upgrade of the ensemble forecasts will bring them to 9km, same resolution of our high resolution forecast.
We are excited to announce that with the next upgrade of our Integrated Forecasting System, currently planned for late 2022, our ensemble forecast resolution will increase from 18 to 9 km. Look out for more information coming soon. confluence.ecmwf.int/display…

Exciting! Its Molniya orbit is the high-latitude equivalent of a geostationary orbit and allows Arctic observations with high temporal resolution. Does anyone know whether and where data will be openly available?
