Foundational models will come and go. The leverage is in context. Chroma Cloud lets devs use the best model - OpenAI, Anthropic, or local while owning the vector text metadata layer. Proud to have backed @jeffreyhuber team early.

Announcing Our $3.8M Seed Round to Make Voice AI Agents Reliable 🎙 If 2024 was the year of demos, 2025 is the year of reliable voice agents. We’re excited to share that @HammingAI has raised $3.8M in seed funding led by @MischiefVC, with participation from @ycombinator, @aigrant, @pioneer_fund, @CoughdropCap, @coalitionvc, @orangecollectv, @twentytwovc, @transposevc, @OliveTreeCap and an incredible group of angels. Read more about us here: 1) Blog: hamming.ai/blog/hamming-ai-s… 2) Coverage by Kerry Flynn from Axios: axios.com/pro/media-deals/20… Humans make billions of calls every day. AI voice agents will perform a majority of these calls. Ensuring their reliability is tough — small changes can break responses, and manual testing doesn’t scale. Even when you ship your voice agents to production, teams spend hours manually listening to calls to find bugs and edge cases. At @HammingAI, we automate testing, monitoring, and governance for Voice AI agents, helping teams catch failures, optimize prompts, and flag edge cases in production. Hamming makes your Voice AI agents trustworthy. Thanks to our team, customers, and investors for believing in this mission.

.@paradedb is announcing a new Postgres analytics extension called 𝐩𝐠_𝐥𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞. It is designed for fast analytics from Postgres over cloud object storage file formats (Parquet) and table formats (Iceberg). You can query tables stored in S3, Google, Azure from Postgres
1/18 I'm incredibly excited to announce @duckdb in @PostgreSQL in the latest version of @paradedb. When we set to bring fast analytics to Postgres earlier this year, we did not expect the journey to take us here. Here's what happened 🧵

When I met @aboodman on the Google bus in 2007, he had this crazy idea to put a database in the browser, now it’s happening, listen to this podcast to hear more.
30 Jan 2024
In 2007 I joined a team at Google with the crazy idea to put a database in the browser. That database: SQLite. The Gears project was killed, as was the next attempt to put SQLite in the browser, and the two after that. Nearly two decades later, the dream is finally materializing. We’re on the cusp of a revolution in web app development. Local-first products like @replicache and @hello_reflect will dramatically change the way we build the web, massively improving both its ux and dx. Listen to the entire tale of how we finally got local-storage in browsers in this interview with @schickling. Thank you Johannes for the invite, this was super fun!

BDS claims that Anti-Zionism has nothing to do with Antisemitism. Vandalizing the Shorenstein Aleichem Cultural Center in the Bronx with the words ‘Free Palestine’ is not only Anti-Zionist. It’s antisemitic. Celebrating the mass murder of Jews (“resistance); calling for the mass murder of Jews (“globalize the intifada”); committing mass murder against Jews (October 7)… All of these are not only Anti-Zionist. They’re Antisemitic.

I went to Washington Square Park today. Because I have the luxury of not being “obviously Jewish,” I stood and watched the protest in front me. “From the river to the sea.” “Get rid of f*cking all of them.” I stood in a wasteland of people who wanted me dead. Now. In 2023.

I joined many others in signing this. "The vulnerability of children in captivity is immense and unfathomable, even under the assumption that Hamas is providing them with elementary necessities. It is our duty to rally to help the innocent. ... FREE ALL CHILDREN HOSTAGES NOW"

Protesting & criticizing Israel is one thing. We have a proud history of protest, which I fully support. Calling for the destruction of Israel, engaging in support for Hamas & its pogrom, & harassing Jews & Jewish businesses is quite another. This line is being crossed🧵

This was confusing to me too. In the wsj article they didn't identify the leadership by name, just title, I wonder how they got that interview
Mossad: We don’t know what’s happening CIA: We don’t know if Iran was behind the attacks in Israel WSJ: We spoke with our spy in Hezbollah leadership, four Quds generals, and the Grand Ayatollah’s personal kebab chef, and they all proudly confirmed that Iran masterminded this

Israel is the victim of a terrorist attack. Hamas is the perpetrator. It’s as simple as that. There are no “both sides.” Yet here you have 30 student organizations from Harvard University, blaming the victims, Israelis, for their own murder, rape, and abduction, rather than blaming the perpetrator, Hamas, for murdering, raping, and abducting them. Demonizing Israel—to the point of denying the the humanity of Israeli victims and the inhumanity of their perpetrators—is moral confusion masquerading as moral clarity.

The DSA held a hate rally, chanting: “from the River to the Sea,” which is code for wiping Israel from the face of the earth. Let that sink in. The DSA is calling for the destruction of the Jewish State amid the largest single-day massacre of Jews since the Holocaust. When it comes to the butchering and kidnapping of Israeli civilians and children, the DSA leadership has no shame. No decency. No humanity. Only hate. I have been warning for years about the deep rot of antisemitism at the core of the DSA and its enablers. There’s no denying it anymore.

The American people believe Congress is broken. They are correct. Here's my plan to fix it. ✅ Ban *all* PAC and lobbyist money from Congress ✅ Ban Congress members from trading stocks ✅ Enact term limits for Congress members and SCOTUS Justices ✅ Ban Congress members from ever becoming lobbyists

I concur but with the exception of exec recruiting.

General advice for startups: Don't hire contingency recruiters. Over the last 16yrs I have tried using contingency recruiters lots of times and it has never worked. The incentives are all wrong: * You get deluged by unqualified resumes * Applicants get trained to trick your job process * You are pressured to close quickly * No care is given to your company culture Instead of contingency recruiters, your aim should be to get an in house recruiter as soon as possible. Probably when you consistently hiring 2 employees/month. Before that point you can: * use your network/investor * use specialized job boards * use Linkedin/Github/etc * If none of that is working.. then consider using hourly or fixed retainer recruiters. That sounds like a lot of work and it is! But when you want to make a hire than recruiting is the most important function you can do so its not surprising that its a lot of work.
