The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees.
The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance.
Access to all other Claude models is not affected.
We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible.

For decades, we’ve been tapping the same circle of celebrity academics for the answers. But, damn, this well is dry.
This stuff feels low effort. Yet more importantly, it’s detached from mass politics and working people.

Indeed, much needed!
In a new work, I develop a new global & non-linear method for HA models (another one!) but based on the Master equation with Projections. There, I show that linearity can miss important features in such models.
ML/DL/RL-methods also offer formidable avenues to approach those problems!

My hypothesis: US university education was a massively successful export industry (foreign students paying tuition housing living expenses is literally classified as exports) and Trump admin collapsed this demand.

Clemson is $1.5B in debt. Syracuse is closing or pausing 93 programs, UNC-Chapel Hill plans to cut spending by $89M over 3 years. Duke recently let 600 employees go in a $350M budget cut. Indiana public colleges announced a plan to eliminate or merge 580 programs statewide.
