A lot of BIP-110 people are Bitcoin illiterate yet they want to confidently reply to threads by just repeating something they heard.

The AI buildout is absorbing capital at historic scale, creating temporary pressure across global markets. That does not weaken Bitcoin. It strengthens the case for scarce, liquid, digital capital. Bitcoin remains the premier asset for the long term. $BTC

Many Bitcoiners are upset and beefing with each other. I suspect root cause is the bear market combined with TradFi markets experiencing an AI boom. Folks want a scapegoat for disappointing returns. BTC could have been more interesting but devs were told we had to ossify...

Bitcoin history: In 2016, small blockers promised Lightning Network was "just 18 months away" to scale Bitcoin payments. Big blockers disputed this as gaslighting & avoiding a known, clear, immediate solution (blocksize increase). It appears LN is still only 18 months away.
Today is a sad day for the Lightning Network community as one of our very respected developers is moving on to new ventures. At the same time, I am delighted that I had the opportunity to collaborate with @rusty_twit and learn so much from him. In any case, I wish him well!

Bitcoin’s promise has always been that no coin can be frozen, even a stolen one.

Nothing screams ‘this BIP is dead’ quite like Matthew Kratter's pivot to becoming a cloud mining salesmen.

Money was literally invented to not have to know your customer. It was created to eliminate the layer of trust needed between the exchange of goods. KYC is antithetical to money.

Bitcoin won't survive this one
The state of the UTXO set since the launch of slop_net. Remember when shitcoin core devs said, blowing out op_return will help in the reduction of the UTXO set? Bitcoin is not just being abused with dust UTXOs but also with large op_returns because of shitcoin core v30 (aka malware) and some midwits would still tell you to keep running the old shitcoin core version and not revolt with BIP110 to end the shitcoin core. MIDWITS ARE MORE ANNOYING THAN CORETARDS/SPAMMERS.

stuffing data in transactional fields, is possible in any internet protocol. (for the silly people who think you can prevent that in bitcoin). demonstration doom code stored and loaded/executed from DNS records... core-jmp.org/2026/03/can-it-…

So much of BIP-110 is support is downstream of technical ignorance. The class of 2020=2025 watched Saylor podcasts and learnt bitcoin through metaphors. Very easy for a malicious populist to manipulate these people.

If you want to disincentivize spam then you need to actually make monetary transactions, otherwise the free block space will be taken advantage of. You can try to censor but as long as block space is cheap the spam will always find a way.

Only 1 block has signaled support for BIP-110. Just 1 block, and that was weeks ago... All this huff and puff about BIP-110 but nobody claiming to be in support of it is actually putting their own economic weight behind it. Not even Ocean miners....

Has anyone asked @LukeDashjr whether he will implement age verification in Bitcoin Knots once whatever state he lives in approves an age verification law to protect the kids? He has said multiple times that breaking the law is a grave sin.

"Users run the network!" Great, now define what a user is and you will understand that only economic actors are users. Simply, those that sell blockspace and those that buy blockspace.

How sad it is that all certain bitcoiners can talk about is BIP110 all day every day. Get a life!

Maybe hot take: BIP-110 failing to activate marks the absolute end of "toxic maximalism" as the main narrative in the Bitcoin discourse. It won't die, bad weeds never die, but it will fail to ever gain any relevance after the whole debacle.

BIP 110 is the first intentional protocol downgrade in bitcoin's history, actually making it a worse money. Think about that.
