If you deviate from your process for a day, it probably won’t appear to matter
If you deviate from your process for a couple of days, it’ll probably seem OK
If you deviate for a week, who knows the results may even benefit you in the short-term
A month, two months, you may not notice any meaningful damage
But let’s imagine 5 years from now, I’d bet you’ll be in a significantly inferior place, than if you had never veered from your process at all.
It’s like the person who lost weight, then decided one piece of cake won’t hurt! Or the alcoholic, who thinks he’s over it, so has the occasional drink, thinking how much harm can it do!
Your process is a set of behaviours, attitudes, mindsets and actions, repeated consistently, sustainably and robustly across time and varying situations, which when allied to a sound strategy, system and tactics, are designed to produce a positive return over time in support of your goals.
It’s all about the Process - that process is a clear pathway ahead, but you 'must' adhere to it.
