Services and products are interlinked, but are not the same. Services add value to products, so that the user doesn't have to know how to do something, or be able to do it themselves.
Service is not a service if it doesn’t deliver the intended outcome.

Today the two superheroes of user centricity and inclusion, our Head of User Research @RochelleLGold and our CEO @simonrbolton opened @nhsdigital’s very own user research lab in Leeds. Many years of work has gone into this by many teams involved.

Services add value to products. Eg. you don’t have to know how to vaccinate yourself, or be able to do it; the service takes the products (vaccines) and adds the value of expertise in vaccinations and clinical safety.

Outputs & outcomes are essential to the delivery of a service, but it is important to be clear which is being measured, or we may think the service is performing better than it is. The outcome is dependent on the output, but the outputs don't give the full picture of success.
