An F-16C Viper from the 367th Fighter Squadron "Makos," 482nd Fighter Wing, Homestead ARB, FL, approaches Hill AFB, UT during Combat Hammer 2026 carrying the ADM-160 MALD (Miniature Air-Launched Decoy). The first MALD-equipped Makos we've photographed, these decoys are designed to mimic the radar signature and flight profile of combat aircraft, complicating enemy targeting and helping open the door for strike packages to reach their objectives.
Combat Hammer provides aircrews and weapons personnel the opportunity to employ and evaluate combat systems in a realistic operational environment. Much of the live weapons testing takes place over the Utah Test and Training Range (UTTR), one of the largest and most capable military training ranges in the world, ensuring America's warfighters remain ready for tomorrow's fight.
