I finally put my finger on it all. Maybe I’m the only one… but I’m overwhelmed with a “the buck needs to stop here” feeling. I’m a huge Stargate fan, but I’m also a SciFi Fantasy nerd in general. And I just feel like so many major IPs, that I dearly love, have been greatly mishandled by studios & executives of late. Yet here was this shining opportunity. Green lighting the new Gero led return of Stargate got my hopes up. Giddy even. With Brad Wright and Joe Mallozzi on board too?! Then the “rug pulled out from under us feeling” was bad enough… but the reported reasoning for the decision?! Just didn’t make sense. Based on what the creatives involved with the project had said in their interview re: taking great care to have broad appeal to newcomers while respecting what came before. So enough. Line in the sand. I wanna show them how wrong they are. Not by being a jerk… but by being consistent and rallying with this wonderful SG community. This family. I’m dug in & ready for the long haul.
