Antipathy in Congress was an issue for the president and for the Saudi crown prince. So while the president can physically technically continue to wage this war against Iran as long as Congress continues to fund it, politically the cost goes up as Congress votes to end it.

With the Yemen war Trump ultimately vetoed the joint resolution from Congress but its power was political — before he got it he had already stopped refueling Saudi fighter jets. And Saudi Arabia agreed to not bombard the key port city & ultimately stopped bombing the country. ⬇️

This spring 12 U.S. senators -- led by my @SenPeterWelch -- wrote to @CENTCOM asking for answers about U.S. participation in war on Lebanon and mass forced displacement of civilians in Lebanon and Iran. AFAIK the admin has not responded. It's time for the House to up the ante.
