🆕 As Trump & Xi meet — dozens of US groups urge Congress to "prioritize peace, cooperation, and stability' and "actively help reduce U.S.-China tensions" "At a time when so many domestic needs are going unmet, a confrontational posture toward China is costing untold billions"

The future of Colombia should be decided by the Colombian people alone—not by American politicians trying to tip the scales or interfere in another country’s elections. 20 Members of Congress are calling on the U.S. to respect Colombian sovereignty. We now need all Americans who are patriotic and/or humanitarian to strictly avoid attacking Trump from the right If he's not bluffing or lying, then we all must come together to get this deal over the finish line (It's also bad politics to look more anti-diplomacy than Trump)

As Lebanon emerges as the single most volatile and important element of US-Iran peace, @RashidaTlaib's leadership on Lebanon war powers - which already brought 90 Dems along - could not be more timely.
NEW: The emerging US-Iran deal covers Lebanon, per American Iranian officials But it's still the biggest vulnerability in the agreement — testing if Trump can restrain Israel, defy backlash from Bibi & co (including domestically) de-escalate regionally notus.org/foreign-policy/tru…

Trump is deeply mistaken if he thinks more bombing will change Iran’s bottom lines. Yet this escalation will be all the more dangerous due to Trump’s earlier threats to destroy Iranian civilization, destroy all civilian infrastructure and make Iran glow. He’s never recanted.
Hegseth tells reporters at CENTCOM: "CENTCOM will be busy tonight because we are going to hit Iran hard. Iran has a chance to make a great deal. They haven't been willing to it...they are going to have tap, tap, tap bombs dropping on key facilities in Iran from the U.S. - it is not to restart the war but to set the terms for a deal"

Congress wants to deepen U.S.-Israel military integration through Section 224 of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). From AI and cyber warfare to weapons co-production and data-sharing, this proposal would significantly expand defense cooperation. Take action below.⬇️

As Trump announces that he's resuming his illegal, unauthorized bombing of Iran — pressure builds on swing Republicans like @SenToddYoung (and others like @HawleyMO) to finally cast the votes that can mandate an end this war

With President Trump recklessly escalating the Iran war again last night, @NIACouncil, @FCNL and @JvpAction Indiana volunteers dropped into @SenToddYoung's office with a clear message: stand up for the Constitution and your constituents and end the disastrous Iran war. His vote would break the Senate's 50-50 deadlock.

With war re-escalating, Senate must pass the House-passed concurrent War Powers Resolution (H.Con.Res. 86) that legally requires an end to this deeply unpopular and immoral war @RoKhanna already said he'll push to take Trump to court and end the war once this passes the Senate
🚨Trump on Iran: "We'll we're going to be attacking them. Attacking them very hard." Speaker Mike Johnson, who yesterday said the US was only conducting "targeted" and "defensive" strikes, is looking on as Trump speaks in the Oval Office

We're elated that principled foreign policy champion @RepMarkPocan joins @HouseForeign Here he is in 2021 pressuring Biden over Yemen blockade with @mehdirhasan "This is the worst humanitarian crisis on the planet" "We need the Biden Admin to act"

Congrats to @RepMarkPocan on his appointment to the House Foreign Affairs Committee. Rep. Mark Pocan has been a fearless voice for diplomacy, peace, and human rights, and HFAC will be stronger with his leadership.

His fight against the US-backed war in Yemen goes back nearly a decade. @RepMarkPocan on passage of Yemen War Powers Resolution: "We have provided support in a number of ways, from logistics to weapons, to on the ground advisers, to refueling, etc."

One reason your gas is getting more expensive is Israel’s refusal to stop bombing Lebanon. Iran is demanding a real ceasefire in Lebanon as a condition for ending the U.S.-Iran war. It’s one of the final sticking points. Demand the U.S. stop backing Israel’s war on Lebanon so this war can end and the strait can reopen and gas can be affordable.
These Oshkosh trucks — manufactured in my home state of Wisconsin — are being used to occupy Lebanon, and are now getting blown up, it seems. Meanwhile, families from Oshkosh have to pay $4/gallon gas because US & Israel won't stop the wars against Lebanon & Iran

Cuba has some of the lowest levels of organized crime in the world and is a key US partner in preventing drug trafficking. Even from a purely "US national security" perspective, destabilizing Cuba is a grave mistake. nationalinterest.org/feature…

If you did not know better, you would think that this headline is from just yesterday. It’s from August 1982. Time and time again, Israel has chosen to bomb its neighbors, illegally occupy more land, and undermine efforts to reach peace. It’s time for our leaders to wake up and see that Israel is not an ally.

"We stand with... the Lebanese Armed Forces in their efforts to live peacefully," said @RepJeffries & hardcore pro-Israel Dems like @RepDanGoldman Since then, Israel killed LAF officers Presumably these Dems will condemn it? If not, calls their sincerity into serious question
New Democrat Coalition Chair Brad Schneider on Lebanon war powers: “I don’t think it’s coming to the floor.” Says U.S. troops in Lebanon are providing critical services including protecting embassies and supporting the LAF and “I’m not going to vote to take away those things.”

It's been 100 days since the U.S. allegedly bombed a girls school in Minab, Iran, killing 100 children. @prem_thakker pressed members of Congress on what they're doing about it. Some didn't seem to know, and some didn't seem to care.

House Dem leaders said "there are no U.S. servicemembers involved in combat operations or hostilities in Lebanon" Trump says "We can help [Israel]" with a "more surgical attack against Hezbollah" Doesn't sound like he's blocking U.S. military intel sharing for Israeli attacks
Trump has NOT claimed the US is refusing all intel sharing for Israeli attacks in Lebanon Hegseth's @DeptofWar would not inform Dem leadership that they're violating US law So @HouseDemocrats cannot actually know that "no U.S. servicemembers [are] involved... in hostilities"

To all the Democrats in Congress who lied about @RepRashida’s Lebanon War Powers Resolution, falsely claiming it would undermine US support for the Lebanese Army: Do you have anything to say about Israel’s ongoing killing of Lebanese Army personnel, including 2 officers and 1 soldier today?
