How the Government of Ontario has treated the Science Centre is a perfect(ly disturbing) analogy for our healthcare system:
We under-funded it so it broke, so we're passing it off to the private sector instead of spending money to fix it.

The engineering report shows the Science Centre needs a little over $13 million in roof repairs - to replace defective panels- quite modest in infrastructure terms.
Just the public subsidy for the Therme mega-spa would be AT LEAST $650 million.

This framing "closing for good" seems a lot like government spin.
The Ontario Science Centre is only "closing for good" if we let the government get away with NOT making the repairs necessary to rescue this public landmark.
We don't NEED to let them get away with it.
