I could not use Mastodon for years because I did not see enough chat that is of interest to me there. Perhaps now there is a real chance. I could never stomach Twitter, so I won’t miss it, and now that is run by a buffoon… I won’t wait to see how soon Trump will be back anyway!
A graduate earning £50k will pay a *higher* marginal rate (51%) than someone on £150K (42%)
A graduate earning £25k will pay a 40% marginal rate, just 2 points less than top earners.
That was vile from @KwasiKwarteng who actually just said "for too long in this country we've indulged in a fight over redistribution"
Indulged?
Dealing with inequality is somehow over-generous? Does he think people choose to be poor & face disadvantage? Disgusting

From next April the 45% top rate of tax (applies to those earning £150,000) will be scrapped. So the top rate will be the 40% higher rate threshold.
This means mega earners, pay the same rate as those on £50,000. #MiniBudget

It seems the time has come, for the NHS to have a near death experience. I wrote a comment that prefigured this development two months ago for Tecnoscienza, so I shall share the preprint this morning.

Here as anticipated. A few thoughts on the topic of Pandemic Data Circulation, to be followed on T/S by two colleagues' comments. I discuss through data and infrastructure studies lens the same kind of concerns discussed by @madhumita29 and @SarahNevdoi.org/10.5281/zenodo.66270…
