Tanzania (!) made a push last week at a food-safety conference for worldwide standard warning labels on alcohol, part of the WHO's plan to reduce alcohol consumption by 20% by 2030. Mexico stepped up and said, "Hands off our Tequila, gringos locos." wine-searcher.com/m/2026/05/…

Stop scapegoating moderate drinkers! 🛑 The data is crystal clear: any public health crisis surrounding alcohol is driven entirely by reckless overconsumption, not the occasional drink. It’s time to focus on the actual problem instead of punishing responsible behavior. 📊🍷 #AlcoholPolicy #DataDriven #ModerateDrinking #PublicHealth #FactsMatter @WHO @alcoholpolicyuk @Movendi_Int @USAlcoholPolicy

Ontario spending $20 Million a year to store US alcohol taxpayers already spent nearly $80 million on. Here's an idea: Grow the fuck up, put it back on the shelves, and let Ontarians decide if they want to buy it or not. cbc.ca/news/canada/ontario-l…

Last week a federal judge questioned whether Ohio actually has a three-tier system for wine. As the Supreme Court considers another wine-shipping case, we look at how cheap beer in the 1890s led to the convoluted three-tier system we have today. wine-searcher.com/m/2026/05/…

A federal appeals court ruled this week that Ohio's ban on out-of-state retailers shipping wine is unconstitutional. The opinion is provocative and strikes right at the idea of a three-tier system. Next stop, the Supreme Court? wine-searcher.com/m/2026/05/…

Read this carefully: it’s a call for research that confirms a bias, not the truth. Nothing this organization says can be trusted.
Do you have a research proposal that would contribute to the evidence on reducing alcohol harm in the UK?📉 Why not apply to our Small Grants Scheme? Eligibility: affiliated with a UK university, preferably an early career researcher. Apply: ias.org.uk/small-grants-sche…

Nobody believes this.
Texas liquor laws prevent underage drinking. Safety over profits.

When people drown, is water responsible for their death? This is an example of misinformation offered in support of an agenda.
178,000 deaths every year in the U.S. Not new information. A call to act. #AlcoholAwarenessMonth #AlcoholPolicy #PublicHealth

Every year, alcohol taxes in Canada increase automatically, tied to inflation, without a vote in Parliament. But there’s a deeper issue. When inflation rises, the tax pushes prices even higher. Those higher prices then feed back into inflation. A cycle that keeps costs going up. Reasonable people can debate alcohol taxes. But automatic increases with no oversight? That’s not how accountability is supposed to work. If prices go up, Canadians deserve a debate, and a vote.

HUGE STUDY—340,000 people—demonstrates that moderate wine drinkers live longer than abstainers. Specifically: "Moderate drinkers who preferred beer, cider, or liquor showed an increased risk of death, but THOSE WHO DRANK A SIMILAR AMOUNT OF WINE showed a SIGNIFICANTLY LOWER RISK OF DEATH. "Zooming in, researchers found that MODERATE WINE DRINKERS had a 21 PERCENT LOWER RISK OF DYING FROM CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASE in particular—even compared to those who never or rarely drank. In other words, drinking low to moderate amounts of wine appears to be better for your heart health than not drinking at all.": nautil.us/if-youre-going-to-…...
