30 fucking yrs ago! 😫 Feels like yesterday. Still the greatest Eng goal I've seen. On top of how great it was, the fact it followed on from a Seaman peno save that prevented another underwhelming 1-1 draw was mental to witness. Then the celebration. Iconic from start to finish.

Dya reckon Fabio Cannavaro regrets having a skinhead in 2006 and then ending up lifting the World Cup?
Uzbekistan manager Fabio Cannavaro on the USA’s security search: 🗣️“They said to me it’s the rules, but in the end the check was only for us.” 🇺🇿

Dear Lord in Heaven, how was I unaware of this beauty, worn by Walter Zenga for Inter, until now?!

Thanks captain obvious. York and Rochdale got 100 points each. While Crawley, Tranmere, Newport and Shrewsbury absolutely stank the place out. Make them play off for a place, none of them managed over 50 points.

Am I being thick, or would it just make too much sense to regionalise it AFTER the prelim round?? Presumably there will be some midlands teams in the north and some in the south. Just move one extra midland team either way then?

The preliminary round draw is today at 4pm. It will be an open draw to see which of Tranmere, Rochdale and York will play Crawley - and ultimately feed into the southern section of round 1. We might see York v Plymouth in southern section in round 1. There's another twist.

Possibly the 1st round draw is before the prelim games are done? Cba reading that whole dry thread..

[1] It's all been about the chair incident (understandably!) but more should be made of Palios trying to scare fellow SWA with lies about the Trust being insolvent (it isn't) and its board members being liable to lose their homes and businesses (they'd in fact be liable for £1!)

I'll say it again, no one can convince me southerners get footy. All just forced rage and waving 50 quids at northerners. Arsenal celebrations just as bad. Not having a single person down there truly loves a club, it's just a vessel for tedious tryhard bravado. All so desperate.

Not sure why this one's been bookmarked tbh. Must've skim-read it and saw 'dark lord' and 'failings' in the same sentence.
This gives Rover a sort of 'Sympathy for the Devil' feel to him. Some eternal omnipresent dark lord presiding over all of our failings through time. Pretty chilling tbh.

[2] Some left that meeting in tears, fearing dire consequences that just weren't real. For Palios to use his reputation as a (supposed) respected and knowledgeable insolvency practitioner to trick less versed volunteers (fans!) into submission through fear is beyond shady and..

[3] utterly despicable. To then pass that off as "a genuine attempt to protect them from personal consequences they may have been unaware of", when in fact the consequences weren't true, takes every single one of us fans for a fool. Moreso those who continue to support the bully.

Before DH Gate, before the fucking Internet, or JJB; high on USA 94, I mail-ordered this sucker from the back pages of Match, waited the longest 28 days delivery of any undiagnosed ADHD 10-y-o motherfucker's life, to be told it was out of stock and our cheque would not be cashed.
First player you think of when you see this shirt?

Got an email at 06:21 this morning off my 9-y-o son asking me what song it was in the attached video. It was Material Girl by Madonna. Gonna have to start setting an out-of-office. Kind regards.

His football team is ran by an incompetent narcissistic meglomaniac, and the worst it's ever been. Get that gormo off that TV show he likes and some jarg spiderman to buy their rivals, and with the help of Micky Mouse, bankroll them on an inconceivable journey to the Premier Lge

We all still talk about you, and get teary thinking about what we lost, and how good it could've been. Fucking loser.

Forget the school team for a second, I played for Tranmere. I was more than good enough.
