Finding Satoshi is the best crypto doc ever made. Approached the subject without bias and treated it for what it is: one of the great mysteries of modern times. Spoke with super informed people, and beautifully explained Bitcoin's history and the key concepts that make it work. I learned a ton I didn't already know, including about Len Sassaman, a fascinating character of history. I won't spoil it, but there's a chance one of the people involved is cryogenically frozen and comes back one day to see how it all played out. Worth the $18. Artfully done @WilliamCohan, @tydamar and everyone involved in @findingsatoshi_

For anyone who watched the "Finding Satoshi" movie. It was the best-made documentary and most credible theory to date on the subject. I watched it twice. My thoughts: Opsec and anonymity infrastructure - Len 95% Wrote the Bitcoin code - Finney 90% Writing of the whitepaper - Len 90% Ran early network and mining - Finney 90% Public "Satoshi" voice - Len 90% The ideas in the whitepaper - Jointly designed Economic mechanism design - Jointly designed Disappearance decision - Jointly designed Decided not to move the coins - Jointly, both clearly not money-driven We are ALL Satoshi. These two men were GREAT men and legends.

I just watched a beautifully crafted documentary, Finding Satoshi. This is a masterful storytelling of the history of the Cypherpunk movement. It reminded me why I'm here in the first place. @findingsatoshi_

finally had a chance to watch @findingsatoshi_. highly recommend. it’s well done and thoughtfully researched. it also honors the people who were involved and have already passed, which is a big part of the story. i particularly thought the interview with @franfinney was beautifully done. it doesn’t try to force certainty. throughout the documentary, they lay out the facts through research and interviews with people who were closest to it, and methodically rule out candidates one by one when the evidence doesn’t hold up. we may never 100% know who satoshi is, but this documentary comes closer to the truth than anyone else has. i think you'll enjoy the ending. great work: @tooleyent @tydamar @WilliamCohan

Why is everyone obsessed with knowing who Satoshi Nakamoto is? @SamEwen spoke to the director (Tucker Tooley) and lead investigators (@WilliamCohan and @tydamar) behind the new Finding Satoshi documentary for the Gen C podcast this week.

A clip went viral this week of a professor declaring that Bitcoin is a CIA surveillance tool and demanded to know "where are the servers?" We’re 17 years in and the basic facts of what Bitcoin actually is still get lost. Which is one of the reasons why I found the @findingsatoshi_ documentary worth watching. It's not what I initially expected. It's less about putting a name on Satoshi and more about tracing where Bitcoin came from: the ideas, the people, the years of cryptographic work that made it possible. For the record, I don't think we need to unmask Satoshi. There's something beautiful about a creator who walked away and let the protocol speak for itself. And this also isn't like the @nytimes piece that recently dropped falsely naming @adam3us…that was based on circumstantial writing analysis, no cryptographic proof, plus Back has denied these claims for years. NYT got it wrong. What really got me were the moments with @franfinney. Hearing her talk about Hal - who he was, what he believed, how he helped change the world - hit me hard. Their love was an inspiration. Behind all the code and the debates and the price charts, there are real people who poured their hearts into building something that could set the rest of us free. Fran's love for Hal comes through in every word she shares, and her strength in carrying his legacy forward move me more than I can put into words. The film also puts to rest the lazy narrative that Bitcoin is some CIA or NSA creation. It's not. Bitcoin came from cypherpunks who spent decades fighting for privacy, sovereignty, and individual freedom. That's a story worth knowing, and one worth holding onto. Appearances in the film include @saylor, Adam Back, @lopp and many more. The film is launching soon, and pre-sale access is available exclusively at findingsatoshi.com/natalie - I was able to extend my followers a 20% discount with code NATALIE.
