There is something special about walking up those stairs and seeing the masterpieces in @bmag collection good curation can make that accessible. Contemporary art can have space but we must celebrate the historic building and its collection. Thanks for raising these issues
It's really important that great artworks and thoughtful curations aren't just seen as something for 'highly educated' people but ABSOLUTELY EVERYONE 🖼 bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c3w2…

By the brilliant @ruth_millington on the decline of Birmingham Museum (@BM_AG) 'Where there were once beautifully decorated ceramics by Victorian designer William De Morgan and objects by Morris & Co is now a large photograph of… a piece of bread. Mounted poorly on a tacky piece of board, the caption says “Crusty Cob” and asks: “What is your favourite filling?” telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/06…

This isn't a surprise as it was clear from the get go they wouldn't win enough seats given the size of Brum. It's targeted and financed disruption of local democracy. They don't have any policies or political experience to make any difference to the life of brummies
🗳️ Reform UK has admitted there is “no viable route” to taking control of Birmingham City Council - despite becoming the largest party after last week’s elections. The party made major gains across the city, but still fell short of the 51 seats needed for power.

Attempts by some to connect the series of horrific anti-Semitic attacks in north London with marches in solidarity with Palestine are false. Our statement on calls for a moratorium on Palestine demonstrations.

Another failure by @WMPolice this evening allowing the Far Right to follow us and not stick to their agreed rally area. No arrests. They continue to spread hate outside the Ramada Hotel in Sutton Coldfield but we out numbered them ❤️
