Trip.com Group is thrilled to announce a new chapter in our strategic partnership with Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) At our 2026 Envision Conference, Trip.com Group CEO Jane Sun and SVP Amanda Wang held a pivotal meeting with esteemed officials from the UAE and DCT Abu Dhabi to deepen cross-border tourism cooperation. We were honored to be joined by Abdulla Yousuf, International Operations Director at DCT Abu Dhabi, along with Mohammed Al Ahbabi, Director of Tourism Development Department, Ministry of Economy & Tourism, Min Xu, Head of International Business–Asia Pacific, and Anood Khalifa AlAhmed, Head of China & Southeast Asia Markets. The momentum of this partnership is already exceptional. Driven by the outbound travel recovery, overall travel bookings to Abu Dhabi on Trip.com surged by 219% year-on-year during the February 2026 Spring Festival period. Key highlights from our expanded strategic roadmap include deepening joint marketing across China, South Korea, and Japan with a strategic focus on 2 night long-stay experiences. During Envision 2026, we were proud to present Zayed National Museum with “Trip.com Group Tourism Innovation Awards”. The museum was recognized for its innovative approach to cultural storytelling and visitor experience, highlighting Abu Dhabi's growing international influence in tourism and culture integration. Furthermore, the Etihad Rail, which connects 11 cities across the seven emirates of the UAE, is expected to become operational by the end of 2026, bringing Abu Dhabi and Dubai into a "30-minute commuting circle." Looking ahead, Trip.com Group plans to leverage its platform advantages to open relevant ticketing channels. This will not only greatly optimize the local travel experience for tourists in Abu Dhabi but also assist Trip.com in further connecting and integrating tourism resources across the UAE, providing travelers with a richer selection of cross-city and in-depth travel products. Co-funded by the European Union and in partnership with the tourism boards of Czechia, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia, the initiative aims to position Central Europe as a sustainable and culturally rich destination for Japanese travellers. Working together with Japanese influencers, the campaign encourages travellers to explore beyond the guidebook hotspots —promoting off-season travel, regional destinations and public transport. We had a great discussion with the Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB) during 2026 Envision, continuing a partnership that has been going strong since 2019. Joining from ATB were Chairman Fuad Naghiyev, CEO Florian Sengstschmid, and China Director Shams Majidli — alongside our CEO Jane Sun and SVP Amanda Wang. Azerbaijan continues to gain strong momentum across Asia. Since the visa-free policy took effect in July 2024, Chinese visitors and order volumes on Ctrip have grown significantly. Flight bookings on our platforms grew in 2025, with Trip.com Korea up 40% and Trip.com Japan up 38%. Hotel bookings saw even stronger growth — Japan up 74% and Korea up 58%. To further expand into the Chinese market, ATB opened its first China office in Beijing on May 29, 2026. Beyond market presence, Azerbaijan is also building long-term competitiveness in winter tourism. The country has entered a five-year partnership with FIS as its first-ever Global Destination Partner, positioning Shahdag and other resorts as world-class winter destinations for Asian travelers. On the connectivity front, a modern daily overnight sleeper train between Baku and Tbilisi relaunched on May 26, 2026, with a journey time of under 9.5 hours — opening up seamless multi-destination itineraries. As 2026 marks the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Türkiye, we are proud to see our strategic partnership with the Türkiye Turizm Tanıtım ve Geliştirme Ajansı | Türkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency Promotion and Development Agency (TGA) reach new heights. Recently, our CEO Jane Sun and SVP Amanda Wang met with Sinan Seha Türkseven from TGA. Based on steadily improving market fundamentals, both parties reached a strategic consensus on attracting more Chinese tourists to Türkiye by multi-dimensional collaboration. To bring this vision to life, we are pioneering new models. “Taste of Türkiye,” our first immersive O2O destination showcase, will launch in Shanghai in Q3. Recent B2B workshops in the Aegean region brought together over 200 industry professionals to strengthen local supply chains. Türkiye is also becoming a global cultural and sports hub. May 2026 alone saw İstanbul host the UEFA Europa League Final, a Kanye West concert, and Andrea Bocelli — attracting over 140,000 visitors.
