#WATCH | Gurugram, Haryana: Couple alleges child swap at IVF centre as DNA test raises dispute over maternity and paternity. Complainant Rahul Rathore says, “…our egg retrieval and semen collection were done on February 13, and on May 14, the embryos were transferred back to us…when the babies were born on January 5, the younger baby looked completely different and did not resemble the family at all. Due to this doubt, we had a DNA test conducted, and it failed both the maternity and paternity tests. For about 3 months, we kept approaching the authorities and the police department to get an FIR filed, but it was not registered. Finally, the court intervened, and the FIR was filed under court direction. However, the very next day, a stay was placed on the investigation…after so many injections and multiple tests, after racking up a hospital bill of at least Rs 5-6 lakh, if we wanted to get one more test done because the baby wasn't resembling us, why wouldn't we?...”
