Only a coward makes an accusation like this (calling me a scripture twister) and then mutes the ability of the accused to respond. Shameful. So here is my response to A Tame Lion and @EricMFriel (who did not mute me): "Why did the Jews in the Exodus fail to reach the Promised Land i.e. God's rest? And why was the writer of Hebrews using this as his signature warning to the Hebrews whom he was preaching to? Unbelief. Much like a congregation today, the preacher is addressing different segments in attendance: believers; those on the cusp of belief, and; unbelievers. I would suggest a reread of the entire epistle instead of trying to take a few verses out of context to make a point that fits your personal viewpoint." I know A Tame Lion (ATL) likely won't see this unless Eric forwards to him/her and I would encourage ATL to unmute me to finish our dialogue since they are the one who responded to an older post of mine.

Suffering the sufferings of the persecuted is the duty the honor of serving Jesus Christ. To love the unlovable is impossible until we understand our own depravity. There is no name on Earth or Heaven by which our salvation from this body of death is to be had other than Jesus Christ the only begotten Son of the Father God Almighty. Forgive them Father for they do not know what it is that they do. The sufferings of the saved are rewarded. The sufferings of the lost you would not wish on anyone if you knew the horrors of it in truth. Choose God and his Holy righteousness only offered and imparted to us by the sufferings of Jesus.
