Rory McIlroy explains why he made each selection for his 2026 Masters Champions Dinner menu: ๐—ฃ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐—ต & ๐—ฅ๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ผ๐˜๐˜๐—ฎ ๐—™๐—น๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ฏ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ฑ โ€œI wanted to try to bring a little bit of the local ingredients in. It's called Le Bernardin. Eric Ripert is the chef there, and this is a dish from that restaurant. It's a yellowfin tuna carpaccio. It's a really thin slice of French baguette with a really thin slight of foie gras on top of that โ€ฆ So that's a fun one that the club worked with me on as well. They went up to the restaurant and worked with the chefs, and made sure; that they obviously wanted to get it right for the night, so that's really cool.โ€ ๐—ช๐—ฎ๐—ด๐˜†๐˜‚ ๐—™๐—ถ๐—น๐—ฒ๐˜ ๐— ๐—ถ๐—ด๐—ป๐—ผ๐—ป ๐—ผ๐—ฟ ๐—ฆ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ฑ ๐—ฆ๐—ฎ๐—น๐—บ๐—ผ๐—ป โ€œIt's an amazing honor to be able to host it, but at the same time, I want everyone to enjoy it. We're starting off with a 2015 Salon Brut champagne. And then followed by a 2022. Domaine Leflaive Batard Montrachet. It's the first-ever white wine that I actually liked ... And then for the red wine we're receiving a 1990 Chateau Lafite Rothschild from Pauillac in Bordeaux. That is the wine that I drank the night that I won the Masters, so obviously brings back some great memories. Shane Lowry had a little bit to do with getting that wine, so I want to shout him out for that, too ... To finish off, we're going with a 1989 Chateau D'Yquem dessert wine from Sauternes in Bordeaux, as well. Obviously '89, my birth year, and I think every great meal deserved to be finished off with Chateau D'Yquem. It is like liquid gold. I wanted to be really intentional with the wines. It's something that I'm really into and passionate about and started to collect wine, probably over the past decade."

Sudarshan Yellamarajuโ€ has taken one of the most improbable routes to the highest level of professional golf. @JosephLaMagna sat down with the PGA Tour rookie ahead of his first Players Championship to learn more about his incredible story.

I had a nice chat with Sudarshan Yellamaraju after his bogey-free 66 on Saturday at The Players. A little more about the 24-year-old Canadianโ€™s unlikely journey to the PGA tour from the man himself. torontosun.com/sports/golf/iโ€ฆ

24-year-old Sudarshan Yellamaraju, who learned to play golf via YouTube, has an outside chance at @THEPLAYERS title in his tournament debut. Who is he? Yellamaraju was born in India and moved with his family to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada as a pre-schooler, where he first started hitting range balls with his dad at a local golf dome. Yellamaraju was fascinated by the game and began watching YouTube videos and golf on TV with his dad, Suresh. As he became serious about improving as a golfer, he began analyzing videos of Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy to develop his own ball-striking. When he was 11, Yellamaraju moved to the Toronto area with his family. He was a late bloomer and wasn't a sought-after college golf recruit, ultimately choosing to eschew college golf and turn pro at age 19 after a gap year. Yellamaraju earned his 2024 @KornFerryTour card via Q-School. After narrowly keeping conditional status as a rookie, he won the second event of the 2025 season and ultimately earned his first @PGATOUR card at No. 19 on the #KornFerryTour Points List, sweating out the bubble on the season's final day. Now in his seventh start as a PGA TOUR member, he's thriving at TPC Sawgrass.

Stories like Sudarshan Yellamaraju are what makes golf great to me and what I love about the pga tour. A Kid who learned his swing on YouTube, didnโ€™t go to college, never thought of as a prospect. I assume almost no one, outside of his family thought he would make it. Top players are the drivers of everything. They are the reason the pga tour is a success commercially. But stories like Sudarshan are a small but vital part of the Tourโ€™s history. Rolapp said the word โ€œmeritocracyโ€ a lot in his speech, so I am hopeful stories like Yellamarjuโ€™s will be a part of the future. Shoot a score, move up. Awesome week for him. Awesome stuff.
