It's no surprise the working class are more at risk, with bosses cutting corners to make up lost revenue. 2 factories in Dumfries & Galloway with outbreaks amongst workers now added to the list.
CV19 pandemic about workplace health safety. Virus shone spotlight on inadequate protection of working people against work risks, on way job insecurity low wages heighten exposures systemic occ. H S law failures, nationally multilaterally.

Furlough cannot be a waiting room for redundancies. And Trade Unions will not allow it to be so in any sector. Workers should not have to pay for the Covid crisis, with their jobs, pay and conditions, as they did for the banking crisis. Employers and Goverments take heed.

The fact that Scottish councils are having to apply for funding from the Westminster furlough scheme is a damning indictment of the @scotgov under-funding of local government and demonstrates how cash-strapped they are.

Following a day of discussions with our catering staff yesterday, today holds important crunch talks with college management to save their jobs.
The 12 catering staff have around 200 years of service between them and dont deserve to be dumped like this!
