I appreciate Dr. Anshul's quest promoting more protein and eggs. Good, nutrient rich food indeed. But have to correct his and many Indians' misconception.
India is NOT the "diabetic capital" of the world. Sure, due to a large population India has high number of diabetics too. But China, which consumes a lot of meat, takes the cake for "Diabetic capital of the world."
It has 1.4x India's number of diabetics. Both absolute numbers at 140 million and also by per 100,000 prevalence rate. Also, China consumes per-capita at least 5x eggs and 20x meat consumption of India.
If you do not believe me, Grok my post, ChatGPT it, Gemini it. I will do it myself in reply. Stop calling India the diabetic capital of the world. It is not true and per-100000 diabetes rate in India is much lower than a lot of countries like Kuwait, Qatar, Egypt, Mauritius, Malaysia, Pakistan etc in diabetes.
Yes, when we get programmed in mind to believe something about our country, it indeed feels very difficult to let go of the opinion. But I urge you to verify the facts yourself and please let go of misconceptions about India.
And more importantly stop unnecessary over consumption of protein (> 1g / kg of body weight for a non-athletic / non-body builder adult) making eggs, milk, meat costly for the poor and actually protein deficient in India. 🙏
