That includes walking from our homes to the metro stations so that public transport becomes a more viable alternative for everyone. It would reduce traffic, reduce air pollution, make the cities look far cleaner and less like a war zone. AND it would improve the health of our citizens. It’s a simple fix. All you need are functioning pavements! Why can’t we build them? 🤔

The U.S. president's accusation against Iran regarding an Indian vessel in the Strait of Hormuz is simply baseless. It is an attempt to divert public attention from the brutal fact that the U.S. has attacked 3 Indian vessels in less than a week and killed 3 innocent Indian sailors. That's pathetic!

This is a crazy development. I have projects that were to run on Fable today - and they will come to a grinding halt. 😢 Across the world, this will make countries feel they cannot continue to rely on American technology. National missions to build frontier AI may get a boost. Yes, guardrails for frontier AI are essential - and Anthrophic itself has argued for it. But creating national barriers isn’t the solution.

Can some bright financial brain help me understand the Space X valuation? Much of the TAM seems to come from AI, but the valuations are way higher than the leading AI companies. At $ 170 per share, and hence a valuation of $2.2 trillion dollars, SpaceX is priced at 122 times trailing revenue. Look at market leader Nvidia - which has a deep moat and is wildly profitable. However, it is priced at around 20 times its trailing revenue of 225 billion dollars (and 13 times forward revenue). If you apply the SpaceX multiple, Nvidia would be a $30 trillion company! I get the Musk Effect and Mars, and Starlink, and solar powered data centres, and various exotic promises - but is there some irrational exuberance here? What do you think?

The FIFA World Cup is, no doubt, the biggest global single-sport tournament, with a quarter of all countries present. But if you go by population, the numbers are interesting. The 20 countries that took part in the 2026 Cricket T20 World Cup have a population of 2.50 billion people. The 48 countries that are taking part in the 2026 Football World Cup have a combined population of only 2.25 billion! The gap would be more if Bangladesh hadn't dropped out this year - the combined population of countries playing in the 2024 T20 World Cup was a whopping 2.65 billion. Obviously India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan contribute hugely to those numbers - but countries like Italy have also chipped in - present for the cricket T20 World Cup but not football! It's also interesting that out of the top 10 countries by population in the world, only 2 are playing the FIFA World Cup - the US and Brazil! India, China, Indonesia, Pakistan, Nigeria, Bangladesh, Russia and Ethiopia are all missing. Having said that, it's certainly true that football is still the biggest global sport because virtually all countries in the world will watch this World Cup! Cricket would not be watched by the vast majority of nations.

This has long been a scary scenario for many - because this is when AI can start acting without humans in the loop - and potentially become superintelligent and beyond human control.
