lol no. The answer is fairly straightforward. You poach indian talent from the big labs and pay them obscenely well and give them a blank cheque. Many countries have done this to establish local ecosystems across various industries. Solution is not to create a mission and put the very same folks who advocate not working at the model layer to lead it.

Today, every ranji trophy team has two fast bowlers clocking 135 at a minimum. And by the way, india has had storied footballers. Chunni Goswami was quite close to playing for Tottenham all those years back. India needs a functioning AIFF, a serious club structure, bottom up leagues in every nook and corner of the country and watch how the talent explodes. The problem in our country is small men with a lot of power.

Indians are blaming Infy/Murthy/Nandan for a lack of home-grown LLM. But that blame is misplaced. Infy/Murthy/Nandan could never start an AI company. They had money and they could have fund something. But that again, is their money and why should they risk it?
The real culprit here is Amitabh Kant and other IAS like him. These are the people, why I left India and started two companies in the US. These are the people, why much of Indian talent left to work for US based companies. And these folks did well.
Let's say the government gives me $10B and ask me to set up an AI lab in India. Am I qualified to do it? YES. Will I do it? HELL NO
And you would ask why? Some would say that I have a cozy life in the US. Some would say, I have deep connection in the US, including family. All of that is correct but does not pin point the reason why I wont start a company in India.
The real reason is Babu. Unlike, many In India who think competing for 1000 seats using some bullshit essay writing contest makes Babu some wizard, I have not come across one, I will hire as an analyst. Under no circumstance, I am gonna report to a babu (Happy report to Dharmendra Pradhan or Smriti Irani though). Also, under no circumstances, I will accept a position where I am unable to fire and put an IAS in jail if they reported to me and indulged in some corruption.
Till this babu problem is fixed, no NRI would come to India. If I were the CIA or CCP, trying to ensure that India does not gain AI independence, I would make every effort to protect Babu fiefdom.

It has come to the notice through some candidates and their parents that inaccurate and fabricated data purportedly showing candidate ranks, total marks, and inter-paper mark differentials for JEE (Advanced) 2026 are being widely circulated on the internet and across social media platforms. In this regard, it is stated unambiguously that the information in circulation is factually incorrect. None of the data appearing in the circulated lists corresponds to any officially released record. The substantial difference in marks obtained in paper 1 and paper 2 is observed only for 2 candidates out of the top 10000 candidates. It is not very surprising as the variation in marks between the two papers is an observed and well documented phenomenon that has been tracked and analysed by the conducting authority every year. There is nothing exceptional or anomalous about the 2026 results. Comprehensive verification of all examination records and related data has been carried out. No evidence whatsoever of cheating, malpractice, unauthorized assistance, data manipulation, or any compromise of the examination process has been found at any stage of JEE (Advanced) 2026.

IITs can easily curb the dummy school menace. Simply make faking school more costly. Also ensure diversity in the process:
IITs should ensure:
*Not more than 3% of intake from same school
*Not more than 10% of intake from same state. This will disincentivise kids from clustering in hubs like Kota and Vizag. China does this
*A compulsory lab exam in physics and chemistry before first semester begins - fail it and your admission is canceled irrespective of your rank. Dummy school students typically skip their practicals and bribe the board officials. Blacklist future students from schools whose students fail this exam

A 24-year-old Polish tennis player arrived in Paris last week ranked 114th in the world, with no sponsors, no guaranteed income, and no certainty she could even pay for her hotel room.
She had to win three qualifying matches just to enter the French Open main draw. Prize money is only paid at the end of the tournament, so a Polish sports drink brand quietly stepped in and covered her hotel bill.
Her name is Maja Chwalinska. And today, she plays in the French Open final.
Before this tournament, she had won exactly one Grand Slam main draw match in her entire career. She had battled depression so severe that in 2021 she couldn't get out of bed. She underwent knee surgery in 2022. She spent years grinding through small tournaments across Europe just to stay afloat.
Then she arrived in Paris, won three qualifiers, and kept winning. Zheng Qinwen. Elise Mertens. Maria Sakkari. Diana Shnaider. Nine straight matches. One set dropped.
She is now the first qualifier in French Open history to reach the final. The last time a qualifier reached a Grand Slam final, it was Emma Raducanu at the 2021 US Open. Raducanu won.
By simply making the final, Chwalinska has earned more prize money than her entire career combined. The runner-up cheque alone is $1.6 million. If she wins today, she takes home $3.25 million.

Last June, I asked Twitter for electric toothbrush recos.
Many recommended Oracura, and @SagarAwatade’s reply made me take the plunge. I got the SB300.
Nearly a year later, I’m charging it for only the second time, and that’s honestly what prompted this tweet.
The damn thing just refuses to run out of battery.
But what has impressed me even more is the quality. It feels solid in the hand, works beautifully, and has survived a year of daily use without missing a beat.
The funny part, and I've mentioned this to Sagar before - I discovered we were already using an Oracura product at home for years now. My wife’s dentist had recommended one of their water flossers (yes, specifically theirs) back in 2020, and six years later it is still in perfect working condition.
Anyway, that’s one Twitter reco that worked out rather well.
