Dear @WilliamsRuto, Europe sees Kenya as a leader in addressing global challenges. And above all, as a reliable partner. Two years ago, our 🇪🇺🇰🇪 Economic Partnership Agreement entered into force. Our trade has already significantly increased. Now we want to go further. Boost investment with Global Gateway to create jobs and support Kenya’s rise up the value chain. Support better connectivity and the clean and digital transition.

A memorable evening at La Source Vive, where four international artists and a children's choir came together for a stirring musical performance for Heads of Delegation and their spouses attending the G7 Summit at the Évian Resort. Set within the elegant atmosphere of the theatre and illuminated by the warmth of the evening, the performance transcended borders, reminding us of our shared humanity and the power of culture to bring people together.

During a meeting with President of Kenya @WilliamsRuto, we discussed the development of high-tech cooperation across various sectors: investment attraction, agriculture, and education. We are ready to share our experience with Kenya and implement joint projects. We agreed that our teams will work out the details of possible cooperation. I thank Kenya for supporting Ukraine’s resolutions in the United Nations General Assembly. We also paid special attention to cooperation within international organizations.

I had the honour and privilege of delivering the lead intervention during the G7 working session on “Fostering New Partnerships and Rebuilding International Solidarity.” Speaking on behalf of Africa, I called for a new paradigm in global relations- one grounded not in hierarchy, but in sovereign equality; not in aid alone, but in mutual benefit and shared prosperity. Africa seeks neither dependency nor patronage. We seek partnership. Not as beneficiaries, but as equals. Not as spectators, but as co-authors of a shared future.

On the Day of the #AfricanChild, we shine a spotlight on the urgent need to ensure every child in #Kenya has access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene, regardless of where they live. Through our WASH project, we bring clean, safe water to communities, schools, and health facilities, transforming lives, promoting health, and restoring dignity. For girls, this means fewer missed school days and greater opportunities. In Évian-les-Bains, France, ahead of the G7 Summit, where I will join H.E. President @WilliamsRuto and fellow leaders in advancing Kenya’s interests on the global stage. Kenya is among only five partner nations invited to the Summit alongside India, Brazil, South Korea and Egypt, a reflection of the country's growing diplomatic capital, global influence and strategic importance in international affairs. At the Summit, President Ruto will champion Kenya's and Africa's priorities on trade, investment, healthcare, agriculture, infrastructure and industrialisation, while positioning Kenya as a key voice in shaping global solutions to shared challenges. Kenya's presence at the G7 is more than diplomatic representation; it is an opportunity to attract investment, expand economic partnerships, create jobs and advance opportunities that directly benefit Kenyan citizens while reinforcing the country's standing as a trusted global partner.

UNUSUAL In an exceptional scene, President XI JINPING arrived in his presidential Hongqi N701 vehicle inside the hall of the Mokran House Palace in Pyongyang, where he was received by leader KIM JONG UN, in a moment that reflected the warm welcome accorded to the Chinese visit.

Together with H.E. @prevotmaxime, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Affairs and Development Cooperation of Belgium, I signed two Memoranda of Understanding, including a Bilateral Air Services Agreement (BASA) between Kenya and Belgium in Brussels. The BASA marks an important step in strengthening connectivity between our two countries by paving the way for increased direct flights, enhanced trade and stronger people-to-people ties. Expanded air links will provide Kenyan exporters with faster and more efficient access to the Belgian and wider European markets, particularly for high-value products such as cut flowers, avocados and fresh produce. During our bilateral discussions, I also encouraged Belgian investors to explore the diverse opportunities available in Kenya across sectors including agriculture, manufacturing, infrastructure, renewable energy and technology. On regional peace and security, I reaffirmed Kenya’s commitment to supporting stability in the Greater Horn of Africa and our continued readiness to play a constructive role in advancing dialogue and peaceful resolution of conflicts across the region.

Accompanied H.E. President @WilliamsRuto to a high-level business roundtable in Brussels, Belgium, bringing together 27 leading investors, captains of industry and business leaders to explore opportunities in Kenya and across Africa. President Ruto made a strong case for Kenya as the gateway to the African market, highlighting the country’s strategic location, stable economic environment and growing role as a hub for trade, innovation and investment. During the engagement, I highlighted Nairobi’s emergence as a major diplomatic and logistics centre, including the expanding presence of United Nations operations, and the investment opportunities available in sectors such as infrastructure, agribusiness, manufacturing, hospitality and logistics. I also noted that with over 90 per cent of its electricity generated from renewable sources, Kenya remains well positioned for green investment, climate innovation and sustainable industrial growth. It was encouraging to witness strong interest from several business leaders who expressed their willingness to invest and expand their presence in Kenya.

As we assume our seat on the global stage, Zimbabwe is poised to contribute meaningfully to international peace, security, and multilateral cooperation, championing a fairer and more equitable global order while amplifying Africa's voice. Today, I had the honour of receiving, on behalf of the House of Representatives, the United Kingdom’s candidate for the International Court of Justice, Prof. Dapo Akande, accompanied by officials of the British High Commission on a courtesy visit to the National Assembly. Prof. Akande, a proud Nigerian who has excelled globally to become a Professor of Public International Law, has in all ramifications represented our nation as one of our finest exports. We are indeed proud of him. Speaking to the delegation, I assured Prof. Akande of our full support as a nation and as a people. The Parliament stands firmly behind his aspiration to serve on the International Court of Justice. We believe the Court requires voices grounded in equity and committed to upholding international law as a shield for the vulnerable, and Prof. Akande embodies these ideals. As Nigeria continues to strengthen its bilateral relations with the United Kingdom, the House will deploy its legislative and diplomatic networks in support of this goal. His victory will not be for Nigeria alone, but also a significant win for Africa and for the principles of justice and fairness in the international system.
