As friends & former WHO colleagues enter today’s feared apocalyptic town hall, it's deeply troubling that WHO is executing abrupt staffing cuts—ignoring the hard-won judgment of its own true leaders who built fit-for-purpose, specialized teams for long-term global work.
Member States get the WHO they fund. Under UN norms, they must ensure WHO stays present & resilient—especially now. The agency should never have been left so vulnerable to the erratic whims of powerful donors and authoritarian populists. It’s time to stand up, not bow down.
These aren’t generic roles. They’re embedded, technical positions shaped by years of trust, strategy & impact. Cutting them indiscriminately is not just short-sighted—it’s a failure of leadership & vision at a critical moment in global health.
"Journalism should be more like science. As far as possible, facts should be verifiable.
If journalists want long-term credibility for their profession, they have to go in that direction. Have more respect for readers." - Julian Assange #LetHimGoJoe

As Transform Health continues to grow, we are adding new partners on a continuous basis. I have had the pleasure of knowing and admiring the work of @eSHIFT_Geneva for many years and it’s exciting to see this partnership formalized. I’m looking forward to great work together!
.@eSHIFT_Geneva is a Transform Health partner!
Their work in the investment, development & application of digital health systems in LMICs bridges the gap between strategy & implementation, and aligns closely with Transform Health's vision of digital transformation of health.
I'm not happy about this. We may now need to reconsider base OS of our digital health platform over this decision: Red Hat resets CentOS Linux and users are angry zd.net/33WWChc via @ZDNet & @sjvn
