You know what was great about Siskel & Ebert? They didn't spend half of every episode analyzing box office and pretending to be industry insiders. They just watched the movies and talked about their reactions.
Did you know Korea sells “one-a-day” banana packs?
Instead of every banana ripening at once, each one is at a different stage.
One is ready today.
The next one is ready tomorrow.
The last one is still spiritually in college, “experimenting.”
Simple. Genius. Solves the entire banana problem.
What do you think?
Would you prefer your bananas this way?
One of the weirdest inversions of the 21st century is that organisations "try to appeal to the youth" by presenting themselves as unserious and childish rather than creating a serious, prestigious image that the youth can hope to attain if they join.
modern musical movies are bad because the filmmakers are embarrassed to be making musicals. musical movies are some of the greatest films of all time but they must be made with a respect for both the mediums of film and musical theater
It’s crazy that we don’t impose harsher punishments on people with license plate covers — they’re saying “the rules don’t apply to me.” Driving is a privilege, not a right, and if you don’t meticulously follow the law, it should be very easy to lose that privilege.
It's not a major issue but I'd like to see Congress take up copyright reform. 95 years is absurd. Anything produced prior to 1960 should be public domain.

After congestion pricing, here's what happened to commercial vehicle travel times in lower Manhattan:
44% were faster
40% stayed the same
16% got worse
It's funny that people groan about this being a government failure, because if the transportation system was privatized, the fee for solo driving during busy hours would be much higher than $9 and commercial deliveries would never be late. And to be clear, my ideal scenario is privatization.
People get used to living on subsidized car infrastructure, so they have no idea how much it really costs to maintain a system. That's why a $9 toll is so offensive to them.
