This is true. Mike Law deserves credit. Thankful for his bravery.
When it comes to stopping the spread of women pastors in the SBC, Mike Law lit the flamesโand Dr. Mohler carried the torch, says @rhett_burns
โThe Mohler amendment was the latest iteration of the Law Amendment, so named for Pastor Mike Law, who brought the original motion for a constitutional amendment in 2022.
Mike is a good man and a faithful pastor. He worked tirelessly for two years to name the problem and advocate a solution. For his troubles, he was maligned, slandered, and scorned.
But he endured, kept the faith, and kept the fight.
Others picked up the torch, Dr. Mohler most recently, and thank God for them, but Mike Law lit the fire and fanned the flames.
Southern Baptists owe him a debt of gratitude. As my friend Sam Webb has said, โMike Law deserves to be the most applauded man in the SBC.โ
The SBC is healthiest when it is led by pastors and local churches. Mike Law represents the best of our pastors. Iโm grateful to call him a friend.โ

This right here is truth. Well done CBL! We do not weaken the Great Commission by making it just about evangelism. Evangelism for sure is a part of it, but discipleship to OBEY EVERYTHING the Lord has commanded is the end of it. To forfeit the end is to cheapen the beginning.
There is no Great Commission without the Great Commandments
Defending sound doctrine and practice is the foundation of all true and worthy gospel work
And never let anyone convince you that these must be pitted against each other

โThere are really good pastors in the Southern Baptist Convention that are good at avoiding controversy. We're not in that time. We have controversy.
We need somebody that can handle controversy and knows how to resolve it.
The problem is not โlack of encouragement in the SBC.โ The problem is shying away from criticism and disagreement.
And so Willy seems to me to be the man for this hour.โ

This needs to be said.
Mike is a good man and a faithful pastor. He raised this issue out of concern for the SBC, not selfish ambition or to โladder climbโ or gain power. He saw a problem and addressed it, and endured a ton of hate for it.
Thankful to call him a friend.

This has been a 4-year battle to deal with the increasing problem of women pastors, which is really a battle for the authority & sufficiency of the Bible.
