Trump’s influence still makes or breaks in Republican elections — Rick Jackson had to flood airways with deceptive advertisements assuring voters he’s Trump’s best friend. His endorsement of Burt Jones unfortunately may have come too late.
Moreover, insofar as the GOP is “moving on” from Trump, what’s waiting to step in is just Jeb Bush again. That’s the alternative to MAGA, and increasingly it even tries to present itself as BEING MAGA.
