Sponges lack muscles & neurons. Yet, they move. How? EMBL Heidelberg Arendt Group @wormduty, @savitski_lab, @Prevedel_Lab & others, showed that sponge movement relies on an ancient relaxant-inflammatory response also found in vertebrate vascular systems. embl.org/news/science/ancien…
