Underserved, Overlooked: How our health systems are failing women and girls with a bleeding disorder’ is a report from the Haemophilia Society, exploring the standards of healthcare and associated services for women and girls with a bleeding disorder.
To effectively address the inequities in bleeding disorder care and treatment for men and women, change is essential. Comprehensive, systemic and cultural change. Our recent report outlines how that change can happen. haemophilia.org.uk/underserv…

With an unknown future for staff in ICBs, NHS E and other providers, leading with kindness has never been more vital. It’s not about being soft, or letting poor performance slide, it’s about recognising the emotional impact on staff and looking after each other as best we can

This little beauty was shining almost metallic in the Yorkshire sunshine. Terrible photo but a couple of years ago I wouldn’t have got close enough to take a photo without @Tone_Killick, is this a silver sided sector spider? The photo doesn’t show the lovely shine

Raising awareness about women and girls with bleeding disorders really does make a difference.
It’s been a lively day of discussion at Talking Red Live today. We’re united in wanting to raise the profile of women and girls with a genetic bleeding disorder and improve the care and treatment available to them. So many positive ideas today about how to achieve this.

It’s European Von Willebrand day. Runny blood runs in our family. Despite being the most common genetic bleeding disorder, it is a condition that many people have not heard of.
European Von Willebrand Disease Awareness Day! Today, on the birthday of Erik Adolf von Willebrand, we are thrilled to unveil the European VWD identity and our slogan “Making the Invisible Visible”! Join us to raise global awareness about VWD and break its stigmas!

I can honestly say I’ve never been stuck in my coat at work before (the zip jammed). For several panicky minutes I thought we’d have to get the tuff cuts out…. Or spend the day looking like a large sausage roll…

Looking at all the lovely posts from #QNIAwards2023 and I’ve realised that I’ve been a (very proud) Queens Nurse for 15 years now, it’s been great watching our network grow and representing the diversity of nursing roles in community ❤️ #QNI #extraordinaryQNs

Imposter syndrome has sneaked in and out of my life throughout my career, but it’s been a regular visitor for a while. I’m finally feeling like it’s back in its box and my sparkle is returning. Fabulous colleagues (past and present) are helping to nail the lid on that box 🥰

I’m a bit proud that my son, on a European adventure, is worried for the first time, he’ll be in a country where he has no knowledge of the language. I tried hard to raise my children bi-lingual with a basic knowledge of other languages, but I clearly failed with Hungarian 🙈

As a child growing up in abject poverty, this statement alone would have seemed impossible. Thank you to all who believed in me 🥰

Well, that’s my second week at @DBH_NHSFT and it’s flown past! Everyone has been so welcoming and a bonus is my commute shared with my son. He’s the 4th generation in healthcare in #Doncasterisgreat #NHS and hearing such lovely feedback from colleagues makes me super proud
