One week left to submit you abstract to @EuroGeosciences#EGU25! The session “Remote Sensing for forest applications” will highlight results from our COST Action 3DForEcoTech 🌳🌲🌴.
Looking forward to your submission! Find details here: meetingorganizer.copernicus.…
Data call on tree allometries!
We are running the data call focused on the allometries and their updating using terrestrial-based lidar.
Despite these specific data, we already have 28 potential datasets from 20 countries.
Join us!

More than 20k individual 3D trees are now gathered in one place to benchmark deep-learning models to classify tree species.
Amazing initiative led by @stefanopuliti!
The data and codes are open, and a preprint is ready! 👏

We did our first test with the #iPhone@pix4d@emlid scanning kit in urban conditions.
The main goal is to be able to capture tress but also pathways, benches and everything else that is there.
It works quite well and it is georefrenced with high accuracy!

We are approaching you 📣 in relation to allometries and close range remote sensing (CRS). We are looking for destructive data and CRS data for the same #trees 🌳🌲 of any #species. Do you have such data and want to collaborate with us? Just, fill this up: docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F…
How can LiDAR data fusion improve forest attribute estimates? And what is the trade-off between benefits versus the time and effort?
Our first review paper explores these crucial questions.
