“Mayor Mamdani can still be the Mayor who, after 25 years, answers the question: what did the City know about the hazards caused by the toxic chemicals at Ground Zero, and when did it know it?" Instead, city lawyers under Mamdani's watch continue to block release of 9/11 records. 911healthwatch.org/press/911…

Thank you @RepLaLota along with @RepGarbarino @RepMikeLawler @RepNicole @RepTenney @RepLangworthy @RepStefanik @CongressmanKean Congressman Chris Smith for working to make sure that the @WTCHealthPrgm has the support it needs to serve 9/11 responders and survivors.
Long Island’s 9/11 First Responders and survivors deserve a health program that works when they need it. That’s why I led my fellow New York/New Jersey Republican colleagues in calling on the Administration for answers on reported staffing shortages, long wait times, and claims delays at the World Trade Center Health Program. Funding the program through 2040 was the first step, and we’ll continue pushing for the care our heroes and families deserve.

This morning I was proud to appear with the leaders of 9/11 Health Watch, Speaker Julie Menin, Congressman Dan Goldman, and labor leaders from the Uniformed Firefighters, Uniformed Firefighter Officers, and Operating Engineers, as we revealed the long-lost “Harding Memo” and calling on the Mayor to fund the ongoing investigation sparked by my legislation to gather and issue a report on all information the City has on the topic of Ground Zero toxins.

I have continuously called on the City to release all information regarding toxic exposure at Ground Zero for over two decades. This news confirms the worst; that the City was aware of the health risks soon after 9/11 and misled the hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers who were exposed. The City must provide candid, honest answers to ensure that all survivors can receive the fair treatment they deserve.
⚡️ Unearthed memo shows NYC officials feared toxic exposures just one month after 9/11 trib.al/qeOcq6c

TY @SpeakerMenin and @galeabrewer @RepDanGoldman for demanding a full accounting from the City of NY for what it new about toxins at Ground Zero and when it knew it.
This morning, I joined @galeabrewer, @RepDanGoldman, and @911HealthWatch to demand full transparency around what the City knew about toxic exposure after 9/11. Like tens of thousands of New Yorkers, I lived and worked in Lower Manhattan and was told it was safe to return, even though it was not. As we approach the 25th anniversary, we are calling on the City to fully fund the DOI investigation and release all remaining records.

Thank you @galeabrewer for fighting to find out what @nycgov @NYCMayor knew about the toxins at Ground Zero and when did they know.
@galeabrewer Unboxing of Dept. of Environmental Protection’s 9/11 files at DEP headquarters, 59-11 Junction Blvd., Flushing NY on Nov 17 2025! Much thanks to Ben Chevat, Executive Director, 9/11 Health Watch, the NYC Dept. of Investigation, Jon Houston and Sam Goldsmith. 22 of 68 boxes at DEP. More to be reviewed. Very rewarding after 20 years of FOILs, press conferences, letters and law suits. Glad our reso/law passed to make this unboxing possible. @911HealthWatch x.com/NY1/status/19838928997… nydailynews.com/2025/11/23/f… nydailynews.com/2025/11/22/n… nydailynews.com/2025/09/20/n… nydailynews.com/2025/09/10/w… nydailynews.com/2025/01/14/p… nydailynews.com/2025/01/12/c…
