The Australian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society (AMOS) is an independent society representing the weather, climate and ocean sciences in Australia.
#Sydney has sweat through the warmest first 8 days of summer in 45 years based of the mean temperature (average of mins and maxs). For #Parramatta, it's been the warmest on record (data to 1965), although I substituted missing 1979 temps with data from Bankstown.
For our last Changing Climates article of the year we had a chat with @sarahinscience about what climate change means for the future of extreme weather events
