Replying to @ANCJonah
I sent @CM_McDuffie my 25th request. His staff told me there have been "technical difficulties" preventing him from receiving and/or responding. I recommended we ask OCTO to help him. Below is how long it has taken my six Councilmembers to respond:

And shout out to all the volunteers knocking on doors, talking to neighbors, phone/text banking, putting so much into helping the candidates they believe in, and not letting the cynicism of this app dampen their enthusiasm.
Kudos to the dozens of candidates who put themselves out there over the past 6 months in the public limelight! Even for the candidates whom I don’t support, it takes courage and sacrifice to run for elected office and offer DC voters real choices, and I salute you.

If you haven't voted yet in DC and want advice on ranking any of the candidates I am happy to share my opinion if helpful. You can drop off your mail-in ballot at any collection box today (e.g. Petworth library) or go vote in person at any voting location.

This is so cool: @blamasters used candidate questionnaires and AI to build a voter education tool that lets you answer a few questions and helps you decide who you should rank in the races for D.C. mayor, delegate, At-Large member of the D.C. Council, etc. rankdc.vote/

I sent my 16th email to the Judiciary & Public Safety Comm about ongoing 911 mistakes. These members with oversight are running for re-election & haven't responded: - @CMBrookePinto @brookepintodc - @ChmnMendelson @VoteMendo - @DoniCrawford - @CMCharlesAllen @charlesallen

This is now several projects finishing ahead of schedule. Maybe this is just WMATA setting longer expectations to finish early, but it feels like really competent project management and result delivery.
SHARE THE NEWS: Station closures in support of the #CrystalCityProject are now OVER. The work was completed two weeks ahead of schedule and just in time for @CapitalPrideDC, @Freedom250, and @FIFAWorldCup events! 🎉🎉🎉

Does anyone know who is working on this traffic safety issue at 4th and Buchanan? The QR code was not scannable.

I am again asking, why doesn't McDuffie simply return the money he took from Trump and MAGA donors? He could do it in 5 minutes with an email. He should start by refunding Jeff Wall, Trump's former Solicitor General who won key cases to dismantle the CFPB and ending Roe.
This is so damning.

OUC has shared that their vendor has identified the issue and are working on a fix - a process that will take several weeks ... this is not acceptable. There is fairly standard software tooling to catch issues like this when developing software (1/4)
DC's 311 app has been broken since May 1, which isn't acceptable for something residents rely on to report sidewalk issues, missed trash pickups, and broken streetlights. I got curious whether the outage actually showed up in the submission numbers. So I pulled the open data. 🧵

It would be fascinating to see an economic impact study of Petworth Porchfest. A little idea by one neighbor and run by a small handful of volunteers brought 15k to the neighborhood just through one mode of transportation. I imagine the bikeshare data will have spiked as well.
🎶 Customers flocked to the live music at Petworth PorchFest on Saturday, marking our busiest day at Georgia Av-Petworth since at least 2011! With about 22k trips, we had approximately 15k more than the average Saturday. 🎵

Reminder that @CMBrookePinto chairs the oversight committee for the Office of Unified Communications, which manages 311 and 911.

The group that sued (DC Democratic Party) is on your ballot. They are the "Democrats United to Free DC". If you don't like your state party members suing to repeal ranked choice voting in order to protect incumbents consider voting for the "Free DC Slate" in all six races.
NEWS: Just in time for the June 16 primary, yesterday a D.C. judge dismissed a 2023 lawsuit filed by the D.C. Democratic Party trying to toss out the ballot initiative that was approved by voters in 2024 to bring ranked-choice voting and semi-open primaries to city elections.

If you're put off by the local Democratic Party spending three years trying to undo the will of the voters in order to protect incumbents who can only win with a minority of the vote... vote for all 20 "Free DC Slate" candidates on your ballot freedcslate.com/voter-guide/

You don't have to love every policy or every candidate to vote for them. Remember you can vote for decent people and by doing so it will make Chuck, Eric, and Josh sader. Then close this app for a few days and talk to your neighbors. 🗳️

A month later and not surprising but CM Anita Bonds never responded despite saying on here she would. I've sent her 18 emails since January 1, 2026. She hasn't acknowledged any of them.
Dear @ANCJonah, When I receive a correspondence addressed to all DC officials, I usually anticipate the colleague that chairs the committee tasked with oversight of the issue to respond. If you are still interested in my response, I'll write to you from the office account. Thanks

Can anyone confirm if the camera next to the path at the entrance of Piney Branch Parkway by Arkansas is a Flock camera? Looks a lot like this one.

After a few months of no responses from Doni Crawford it seems she is falling in line with Brooke Pinto on 911 oversight and not going to be a different type of Councilmember. I am moving her down to my second choice in the June primary.
CM Crawford has been the ONLY member of the Judiciary and Public Safety Committee to even respond to my requests about why 911 mistakes continue to happen around Petworth. She showed up for the oversight hearings and asked me about OUC stalling on my FOIA requests. This is good.

This is the stuff the Councilmembers on the committee (Pinto, Allen, Bonds, Crawford, Felder, and Mendelson) should be looking into but aren't: x.com/i/status/2060015633467…

HERE’S ANOTHER ONE: I told you yesterday that there were definitely more DC911/@OUC_DC mistakes over the last six months that I didn’t know about, beyond the 37 I posted Tuesday night. Well, number 38 came to my attention yesterday. It’s another sad one. A woman died. It occurred last Friday. That’s the same day that a US Park Police officer had to drive an apparent stroke victim to the hospital after OUC dispatched EMS to two wrong locations. The new incident was initially dispatched as an unconscious person to 1221 4th Street NW. Six minutes into the call, a dispatcher said he was told the first address was wrong and that the correct location was about a mile away at 1221 M Street NW. What wasn’t relayed, that had been entered into the dispatch computer, was that the unconscious person was now reported to be in cardiac arrest. Of course, that’s important information that should have been shared on the radio with the responding units. The dispatchers should have also upgraded the call. That would have added an EMS supervisor. The EMS supervisor wasn’t dispatched until 16 minutes into the call, after Engine 6 reported they were finally with the patient who was in cardiac arrest. I can’t definitively say at this point if the address mix-up was the fault of the 911 caller or OUC. But failing to relay crucial information and not promptly upgrading a call are common mistakes at OUC. It’s exactly what happened during the December 2nd cardiac arrest, which is the very first incident on the list I’ve compiled. Interestingly, the Center for Strong Public Schools is run by Jessica Giles/Victor Horton, the same people behind the pro-charter Democrats for Education Reform. DFER's reputation took a big hit post '22, so seems clear they're stepping in with big spending where they left off.
Daily D.C. mailer report: Got one today from the Affordable Future D.C. independent expenditure committee supporting @LisaJRaymond and @GregoryJackson in the At-Large D.C. Council race. The committee is funded by @StrongSchlsNow Action Fund.

Probably important for Porchfest attendees this weekend to be really mindful of any surroundings if they have drinks. MPD has been very aggressively arresting people at Petworth Rec Center for open container violations, even parents with children.
There's video circulating on Insta of a tense scene in Mt. Pleasant last night: More than a dozen federal agents were in Lamont Plaza arresting a man for an open container violation. A woman holding a bat began heckling them, prompting US Marshals to draw their guns on her.
