I always knew this day would come, but never expected it to be here so soon. A day I dreaded waking up on, but also comes as a sigh of relief. As of today, I am retiring from my role as Founder, Owner, and Driver from Paradox Sim Racing. I have also requested out of respect for my connection to PSR, a team I started long ago, the name retires with me. Which means soon enough, the mighty drivers in our community will no longer bear the PSR name. They have accomplished so much as a team and I owe them all the credit for where we have gotten to today. I wish them nothing but the best and hope those who do carry on in the community find a home worthy of their talents, attitudes, and friendships. If you're wondering why today, here's the simple explanation... I've hit the point in my life where things like the league racing community have begun taking a back seat. My focus is constantly elsewhere right now, between my work, my girlfriend Emma, my dog Max, and my real life obligations. I don't have the same desire to grind the game as I once did because I don't have endless time to spend on it. I'm barely online and able to help where I know I'm needed with my team. I wish it was more like Covid times when I had the freedom to focus on this daily, but it's not anymore. And I'm at peace with my decision, because I've accomplished more than I would have ever dreamed in online racing. Never did I expect to buy a sim racing rig and end up in the F1 Challengers Series less than a year later, not once but twice! This is something many of you will experience in the coming years, from going all in to becoming a casual player. It's part of growing up. My heart wants to stay but my head knows it's time to go. And this will allow me to focus on my career and relationships, two things that have time and time again taken a back seat to PSR. I will still be around, both on F1 and iRacing, but most likely in a casual setting. I hope to have more success alongside my many racing friends in whatever events come my way. I also hope if we've interacted over the last few years, you have enjoyed our chats together and that I've had a positive impact on your life. And if not, I can only apologize and hope that if we do cross paths again, things are different. Feel free to stay in touch and I hope to race with you all again soon. Folks, let’s all please take a minute to pay homage and put some respect on this young man’s name, Matt Ustaski. The pride of Glenview Illinois has been living out of a Jansport backpack and a Greyhound platinum membership quite literally since 2017. There’s Cartel truck drivers from Tijuana that haven’t pounded this much pavement since Matt entered the pro hockey circuit. I mean we’re talking about putting on more mileage than Mexican gang affiliated drug mules hauling dust on 18 wheels all across North America. I bet Mike wakes up some days and doesn’t even remember where his chin is. Are we in Fayetteville surrounded by confederate flags and Klan gatherings or are we in Idaho breathing that blue turf infested air at dollar beer night in the guts of Boise States campus? If my math checks out, is that 18 fucking teams in 8 odd years? Does Matt have a sleeping bag on him at all times? How do you go into a season knowing you’re going to play for a new squad every month? That’s crazy. Shoutout to Mattchew man. Let’s get him on the biggest show in the word HB3 soon. Charlie Kirk, a name synonymous with having the courage to speak what you believe and seek/welcome conversations with those whom you disagree with. I’m not a political person but I am a proud American citizen and today was startling, saddening, and maddening all at the same time.. I’ve realized that I’m a bit naive to how crazy it all has become but watching a man get hunted and slayed in broad daylight because of his opinions made me disgusted and devastated. This can’t be what we actually are or become as a country.. I believe that the good people will always outnumber the evil people but damn… today was an alarming day in our country’s history. 2 kids lost a dad.. a wife lost a husband.. and societal discourse lost a voice. RIP @charliekirk11.. I send my prayers, thoughts, and love to his family and friends.
