If you're suddenly managing people remotely, temporarily increasing the number of team meetings is smart. Increasing #communication ( via video conferencing & personal phone calls) won't just ensure #work is coordinated, it will allow people to connect & share coping strategies.

So proud of our @ASW_Warsaw Early Years team and reimagined Open Doors. Students with agency and choice, completely reimagined single subject integration, so many relationships, such intentional use of space and it's play based @AnnevanDam1966 #changethatmatters #ibpyp #pypchat

What if we taught students to use these devices 💻📱 as EMPATHY MACHINES? What if we taught students how to use digital tools to hear and understand the stories of others? Have we done our due diligence in teaching students to use these tools for GOOD? #ReadTheWorldNOW #SEL

If you want to get better, always hire the best, even if that means shorter tenure overall. As a superintendent, I only hired direct reports that had the potential to develop into superintendents. I would rather have a great leader for 2 years than a mediocre leader for 20 years.

“All life events are formative. All contribute to what we become, year by year, as we go on growing. As my friend the poet Kenneth Koch once said, “You aren’t the age you are. You are all the ages you ever have been!““

This is really beautiful. And true.
"I don't think anyone can grow unless he's loved exactly as he is now, appreciated for what he is rather than what he will be."

Why do we stew over the negative? Share this with your students ages 10 and up. #Mindfulness helps us notice where our attitudes are tilting. Find other great tips for better balance in this amusing animation and interview. bit.ly/2nHoUu9

Learning how to improve play at our school = 3 days. Over 100 miles driven through Somerset, UK. 3 schools visited, 2 meetings sat in on, 1 meeting (ours) held and done. Thank you @OPALOutdoorplay for hosting us. ⁦@mlrose14⁩ ⁦@CuriousChestnut⁩ ⁦#humansleadinghumans

Page and Elfer clarify that settings can be engaged in contributing to children’s emotional well being by the interactions between staff and the children and this is dependent on ‘consistent adult attention that is responsive and sensitive’. (2013) and I would add, in the moment.

Sometimes students are wrong, sometimes parents are wrong, sometimes teachers are wrong, and sometimes administrators are wrong. Your title or position doesn't make you right or wrong--being wrong makes you wrong. Own up to it and let's get better! #teachergoals

Another concern about the way Maths is taught. Why do content and skills not match student needs for the real world, in particular with data management and statistical analyses? @NISChina @notosh
Are today’s students still learning math that’s tailored for the Victorian era? Stanford economist Jo Boaler explains. (Full episode: bit.ly/freakradio)
