And all they did was to break the law How's your alliance holding up today, Zack ? The one between the LBGTQ community and the most mediaeval misogynistic movement on the planet ?
Gut wrenching to see four young people jailed for direct action against an arms supplier to Israel. Years in prison for protesting to save lives in Gaza, with 'terrorism' used despite no jury convicting them of it. A truly dangerous attack on the right to protest.

Ten years on, I can say this plainly: I voted Remain in 2016, but only just. I distrusted Brussels bureaucracy, doubted the project of “ever closer union”, resented the EU’s use of free movement as a solvent of national loyalties, and feared Britain’s foreign and defence policy being constrained by Germany’s soft-power illusions. Why, then, did I still vote to remain, and why would I now vote to stay out? Read my thoughts at The Biggar Picture: nigelbiggar.co.uk/p/brexit-t…

Some people suggest that while green is expensive, the benefits are much greater Well, no: The benefit of net-zero is $4.5 trillion/year, but the cost $27 trillion (much larger costs and benefits, because we're currently only doing a bit of net-zero currently) x.com/BjornLomborg/status/17… You can see all the references in my Twitter thread: x.com/BjornLomborg/status/19…
Climate campaigners tell you green is cheap It isn't Global green transition cost is now $14 trillion, rising with over $2 trillion/year (2% of global GDP) 105x our spending to avoid hunger Still, CO₂ emissions set another record last year assets.bbhub.io/professional…

I live in a country where the energy secretary and his climate committee commissars are promising to ban or severely restrict: Petrol and diesel cars Oil and gas drilling Gas heating Underfloor heating Tumble driers Fertiliser Air travel and Cattle They plan to forbid their way to prosperity. Please somebody explain to them why that won't work.

IDENTIFIED Maud Dromgoole, a playwright and theatre producer, served as a juror in the high-profile criminal damage trial involving activists from the now proscribed terrorist group Palestine Action. Here, she spoke in their defence outside Woolwich Crown Court before sentencing yesterday. We believe this conduct is illegal and constitutes contempt of court.

Henry Pollock was exceptional last night. All business, no bullshit. He’s outgrown a bench role at club level because using him for 30 is just wasting the first 50. As for England, we’ll see. But reckon he’d work in a pack with Martin, Coles and Chessum. thetimes.com/sport/rugby-uni…

The performances from Coles, Chessum and Martin yesterday will reassure Borthwick that Itoje can be rested this summer. Give others minutes and also start to bring Arthur Clark through from the bench. England can have five quality locks going into the World Cup.

#Brilliant Thanks Merryn, made me laugh.
You'd imagine she'd at least be popping them on Vinted and returning proceeds to the party?

Thanks Claire. #RIPDavidHockney
We've lost one of the greats. Not only as an iconic artist of huge originality, but also a public figure with the courage to be a dissident. I once had the honour of chairing David Hockney on a panel. Yes, it was about the excessive Nanny statism about smoking. He made an eloquent case for choice & liberty. I was excessively star-struck. He was excessively modest. Ahh. Such a loss.
