If you're rich and well looked after, this bill is probably safe. If however, you are in any way vulnerable, maybe by virtue of age, coercion, depression, eating disorder, a victim of domestic violence this bill is extremely dangerous. Amazing to see Labour MPs backing this.

LABOUR'S WORST NIGHTMARE: If the assisted suicide Bill returns, it will dominate this whole parliamentary session as the last. If it somehow passes, it will become a General Election issue, as the implementation period = 4 yrs. In between, there would be wrangling over statutory instruments etc.

I'm a resident of your constituency. As a practicing psychotherapist and counsellor your Bill will absolutely make a difference to me and my work, but for all the wrong reasons. This Bill must be stopped. Again.

It's back. Incredible how giving the state powers to assist people to die, is a now considered a higher priority for some politicians than fixing an NHS that struggles to keep people alive. Grrr.

Jimmy Carr nailed something a lot of us feel but can’t explain. We’re living better than 99.9% of humans who ever walked the earth, hot showers, modern medicine, endless entertainment, kids that actually survive infancy, yet so many of us feel miserable. He calls it “life dysmorphia.” We get used to how good we have it (the hedonic treadmill), then compare ourselves to everyone else and tank our own happiness. As he puts it: happiness = quality of life minus envy. Marcus Aurelius put it perfectly: “Very little is needed to make a happy life; it is all within yourself in your way of thinking.” When was the last time you caught yourself feeling unhappy despite objectively having it pretty damn good?

If suicide on the nhs comes in under Labour I for one will never vote Labour again for the rest of my life having voted for them for the last 40 years . Offensive to do this when palliative care so weak across the UK

It was described as the “safest and most robust assisted dying legislation” by **supporters** of the Bill. Not a single Royal Medical College OR Professional Body in this country will say the Bill is safe. Let alone it being the “safest”.

Here is how others described the Bill: 1. The Royal College of Physicians said the Bill is unsafe 2. The Royal College of Psychiatrists said the Bill is unworkable, and unsafe 3. The British Geriatrics Society said the Bill’s safeguards are not adequate 4. Domestic abuse charities said the Bill is unsafe 5. Organisations representing disabled people said the Bill is unsafe 6. Royal College of GPs says the Bill lacks adequate safeguards 7. Lord Stevens, ex NHS CEO, said legislating for assisted dying in the current climate of hospice cuts is “utterly ridiculous” 8.
