🚨The role of Minister for Disabled People has officially been scrapped, Downing Street confirms.
We are appalled at the Government’s choice to cut a dedicated Minister at a time when our community faces ever mounting challenges. (1/4)

Stole this off Reddit. If this is real then it’s hilarious. The Loco in question was Flying Scotsman. Fairly distinctive…

We are saddened by the news that Bob Burgis has passed away.
Bob was involved with Ruils for 15 years as a supporter & Trustee. His legacy lives on through Your Say and the Transport & Mobility Forum.
In his memory, Bob's family are collecting donations: ow.ly/CsJw50QgKBC

Fabulous visit to Gallions Reach to see the new DLR trains which will start to be rolled out from Spring 2024. Loving the walk through design and of course, the new moquette! 🚊🚈🚆
Enabling disabled people to make the journeys they want with freedom, dignity, ease and confidence must be a priority of any Government. Pleasure to speak at the @TransportForAll launch of their new report ‘Are We There Yet?’ about Labour’s ambitions for rail
Thank you to @StephenMorganMP for speaking at the launch of our report on accessible transport in England. We look forward to working with you in future to ensure that disabled people's concerns are not only heard, but meaningfully acted upon by decision makers.

End of the week outing to look at the new @SW_Help Arterio train. Shiny and new with some real plus points. As always, improvements possible. The Access Panel will feed these back. Hopefully addressed before it goes into service. #Arterio
ALT Alan in his wheelchair, in front of a new train. It is dark blue with the white SWR logo and the name "Arterio" in yellow on the side. It is next to a platform edge. Alan is wearing a red coat and dark trousers.
ALT A view down the aisle of the new train. It has cream coloured walls and ceiling, grey floor, silver poles and dark seats with blue grips on them. The wheelchair space is large with room to move around.
🧵The apparent lack of communication and slow response time to get passengers off to a place of safety is just as concerning. We have heard reports that some passengers even tried to open the doors themselves to self-evacuate. This is extremely dangerous 2/4
Every activist needs a recharge and their cynicism banishing. Achieved tonight by @billybragg, here on stage at @ClaphamGrand, and the fantastic audience.
I don’t agree with badly implemented floating bus stops. They are not suitable for wheelchair users or blind/partially sighted users. I’ve personally been stuck and endangered by them in Glasgow.
We are off to petition @RishiSunak@10DowningStreet for the 3rd time on Wed 6/12/23 to bring a halt to floating bus stops & shared use bus boarders with @AdamGabsiLDN@InclusionLondon who explains about the problems he faces when he goes to watch the football at #Arsenal Stadium.
