85 years ago Charlie Chaplin made the greatest speech of the century (playing a mock version of Hitler). We'd be wise to heed his words TODAY as they are incredibly appropriate now, just as they were in 1940. Don't bow down to dictators. _Fight_. (©️"The Great Dictator", 1940)

This is the main reason why this Kiriakou guy gets a zero credibility score.
John Kiriakou: "The only people who offered me a job were the Russians."

Do you also get gibberish in your dreams that looks like legible text? I just got to watch some "subtitles" and managed to try to read them 😵‍💫. @grok what would you say?

As I said... This is not pure idiocy, useful or otherwise. This is intentional abuse of power and, in fact, falsifications, all in furtherance of the interests of a foreign adversary.
EXCLUSIVE: 🚨 @TulsiGabbard Recycled Published Russian Intelligence And Claimed It Was An Official American Intelligence Document In Her Latest Act Of Deception Days Before She Is Set To “Resign” As DNI 🚨 In her “Ukrainian Bio lab” document “declassification” release this week, I’ve discovered that DNI Tulsi Gabbard used graphics from official Russian intelligence documents and slapped an ODNI @ODNIgov logo on top of these same documents to present them as an official intel report created by the US government. Upon further analysis of Tulsi Gabbard’s most recent declassification related to Ukraine, I have discovered evidence that she is directly peddling Russian government propaganda. Here’s the evidence: Source: dni.gov/files/BIOLAB_Slides.… Slide 1 ironically includes an IC assessment that claims Russia will attempt to spread false narratives about the US’s bio labs in Ukraine, which is exactly what @TulsiGabbard just helped the Russian Government do. Slide 2 contains an AI generated map of Ukraine which is clearly not an IC product, and which contains basic spelling and geographical errors, making a mockery of the US government. Slide 4 contains the internal work product of an American corporation (Black and Veatch) that worked with the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) in Ukraine. The Russian Government claims to have captured these documents during their invasion of Ukraine. The Russian Government then widely publicized these products in their own official reports in 2022. Gabbard’s political staff (not IC analysts) recycled published propaganda of the Russian Government in an attempt to spread false narratives while falsely claiming the slideshow she released this week is an original work product of US intel agencies. Page 83 of the following document presented by the Russian Government to the UN Security Council shows the exact figure that Gabbard recycled in slide 4 of her release this week. Source: the-trench.org/wp-content/up… Gabbard’s intent with this deception is to conflate the biological safety work being done to prevent dangerous uses of Soviet era pathogens (which has been publicly disclosed since 2005 as the Nunn-Lugar Cooperative Threat Reduction framework) with bioweapons production so that Russia has another manufactured excuse to continue its prolonged war with Ukraine. Let’s be clear: there is no evidence that Ukraine in its longstanding cooperative program with the US has engaged in Gain of Function or biological weapons research. But what is clear is Tulsi Gabbard and her staff promulgated Russian intelligence products as American work, in violation of the Espionage Act. My FOIA request to ODNI regarding the production of these documents is being submitted on Monday morning. By law, ODNI has 10 business days to respond. I look forward to reading the emails. The Trump administration should order ODNI to take these Russian documents down today. This is embarrassing for the Trump administration. Nice to know ODNI gets their “intel” and their graphics from Russian intelligence. See photographic evidence below 👇🏻

Now, more than ever, is the time to inform lawmakers about the risks of developing superintelligence. Yes, there are some groups that are trying to stop this. However, the future is in our hands, and we all have the ability to help it be a good future. Please use the quick, simple tools from @ControlAI to contact your lawmakers and journalists to let them know that this race is dangerous. If you want training and resources to learn how to talk to lawmakers, we at Torchbearer Community can help with that.
Why are governments in the dark about the threat posed by superintelligent AI? Because the industry is spending to keep them there. In ABC's new Four Corners documentary, ControlAI's US Director Connor Leahy (@NPCollapse) explains:

Interplanetary-scale grift.
NEW: SpaceX is set to have the largest IPO in history, at a $1.75 trillion valuation. But it's not what it seems. Musk got Nasdaq to change the rules in his favor, forcing tens of millions to buy in at a price nearly double what analysts say it’s actually worth. Now Elon Musk is using your retirement savings to become the world’s first trillionaire.

Why build in space, indeed? Wasn't the original plan supposedly to colonise Mars by now? Build datacenters on the ice caps so they melt it and thus terraform the planet? Whatever happened to that plan?

Ok I'll call it now. Space-based datacenters is Theranos. Just as Mars colonization is Theranos. Just as this whole admin and techbros upholding/invoting it is Theranos. But sure, buy the ipo. Like most of those grifts, it surely will grow. Starlink is nice, though, true that.

No surprise that plagiarizing from the plagiarizing machine making students less creative.
Students without access to LLMs are 2 to 8 times more creative than students with access. That is the finding of a new paper comparing 2,200 college admissions essays written by humans before ChatGPT with essays generated by GPT-4. The key point is not individual creativity. GPT-4 can write well, sometimes better than individual students. The problem is collective creativity. Each new human essay added new semantic territory. New ideas. New angles. New experiences. New combinations. Each new GPT-4 essay added much less. The authors call this the diversity growth rate: how much novelty each additional text contributes to the collective pool of ideas. Humans kept expanding the pool. GPT-4 made the pool converge. Even when the authors pushed GPT-4 to be more creative, changed parameters, or used chain-of-thought prompting, the homogenizing effect remained. This is the real danger of AI in education. Not that students will write worse. That everyone will write the same. * Full paper in the first reply

Similar trend with many of those people. They start out with the opposite stance. Then they smell that the Money is actually with the grifter-sociopath side.
In today’s Vatnik Soup, we’ll introduce an American conspiracy theorist, podcaster & antisemite, Candace Owens (@RealCandaceO). She’s best known for spreading conspiracy theories, attacking Ukraine, promoting pro-Kremlin BS, and becoming a favorite of Russian state media. 1/21

Even a one-to-10 is a favourable "exchange" of lives for putin. This is what I keep reminding our dear positive pro-Ukraine-commentators about. One Ukrainian hero's life is worth more than dozens of lives of putin's meat army. Don't stop supporting Ukraine please. Especially now.
Replying to @ZelenskyyUa
We are losing our people, and every loss is painful to us. Even when the ratio of Ukrainian losses to Russian losses is one to five or one to six, it still matters greatly. It also matters that you regularly postpone, every few months, your own deadlines for capturing our regions — especially the Donetsk region. And you will not capture it this year either. But we in Ukraine do not want a permanent war. We know very well that life without war is infinitely better. And we want to achieve that. I am convinced that the majority of Russians would respond positively to this as well — and you know it.

What if the skeptics are right and superintelligence is impossible? Great! Then a proactive ban costs us nothing, prevents massive compute waste, and hurts no one. But if they are wrong? We face an unrecoverable coordination failure with existential consequence.
A common argument against AI regulation asks what happens if superintelligence (ASI) is impossible. This clip from @Siliconvos covers many of the paths to ASI that an AI model could take, and why it's likely NOT impossible. But if it turns out it IS impossible, why regulate it?

Russia activating most of their foreign assets simultaneously is a pathetic hopefully-last-effort attempt. We should ALL keep tabs on this stuff and remember their names lest they try to whitewash themselves at some point.

For weeks, Irish politicians have dodged questions about the refinery in Ireland supplying Russia’s war machine. So I tracked down government minister Niall Collins at a farming show. He refuses to back sanctions & his stance was worse than I expected. Avoidance.
