SATOSHI NAKAMOTO BITCOIN COULD BE CRACKED BY QUANTUM COMPUTERS AND PARADIGM HAS A FIX
Paradigm proposes PACTs to stop quantum computers from cracking old Bitcoin $BTC wallets.
Dan Robinson of Paradigm published the proposal for a system that lets holders of old Bitcoin wallets prove ownership without moving their coins first.
The plan lets Bitcoin holders privately timestamp cryptographic proofs of key ownership today. Later, they can use quantum-resistant STARK proofs to unlock their coins if the network freezes vulnerable addresses.
The proposal is designed to protect dormant wallets, including Satoshi Nakamoto's holdings. Owners would not need to move funds publicly in the meantime.
The proposal is a direct counterpoint to BIP-361. Developer Jameson Lopp put that proposal forward in mid-April. It would freeze quantum-vulnerable addresses on a five-year deadline.

⚠️GOOGLE SAYS A QUANTUM ATTACK ON BITCOIN TAKES JUST 9 MINS WITH A 41% SUCCESS RATE
Google's quantum team now says cracking Bitcoin may require less than 500K qubits, far below the “millions” once assumed.
Research suggests an attack could take 9mins, faster than a typical 10-min block confirmation, giving a 41% success rate.
Google now flags 2029 as a key deadline to upgrade Bitcoin’s cryptography before quantum becomes a real threat.
Community note
There was no confirmed breakthrough or imminent threat. The recent Google quantum headlines are about future risk planning, not current capability, there is no machine today that can break any encryption, let alone Bitcoin.
