Highlighting the pivotal role of adequate funding in advancing healthcare delivery and improving health outcomes, the PS stressed the urgent need for heightened investment in critical areas such as healthcare facilities, personnel training, and Universal Health Coverage.
She outlined the significant challenges facing the healthcare sector and emphasized the importance of financial support to effectively address these issues.
Additionally, the PS discussed the department's focus on key areas under the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), including public health management, disease surveillance, preventive healthcare measures, and strategic interventions for diseases such as malaria, tuberculosis, and nutrition services.
