Democrats passed a law that automatically raises California's gas tax every year. On July 1, it rises again to 63.4 cents per gallon, the highest state gas tax in America. When the law passed in 2017, the tax was 27.8 cents per gallon. Now they're wondering why Californians are furious about the cost of living. It's one of Sacramento's great mysteries.
