When a star belches, it can be a nearby planet’s last breath. Astronomers report the detection of a coronal mass ejection from a nearby star—the first time one of these burps of ionized plasma has been seen around a star other than the Sun. scim.ag/4i1VcXI

A look into the heartbeat of a star Scientists at the Leibniz Institute for Astrophysics Potsdam (AIP) have uncovered the intricate magnetic heartbeat of a distant star remarkably similar to our own Sun—but much younger and more active. This groundbrea nachrichten.idw-online.de/20…

It seems so many people like SF4, SFV and SF6. It would be so cool if Capcom created an eco system that included a pro tour for each game. Simply forcing people that don't like SF6 into an SF6 box is a wasted financial opportunity when you already have a product that those people like. Its also counter-productive to have thousands of people all insulting each other's favourite version of the game, we can easily all have a place here without feeling left out or neglected. Run an offline pro tour on SF3, SF4, SF5 and SF6 all with the same prize pools, then the publisher would also get to see what people want to play and why, which would help them develop further iterations in the future. (Or modify this idea to something that works, but lets not act like more cannot be done here). Playing without publisher support when another game has a thriving pro tour and a huge prize pool is not motivating. At the end of the day, people cant help when they were born and punishing SF3/SF4/SF5 fans that missed the wave is kinda unfair. If the Saudi Arabia powers that be will offer more financial opportunity, then it would be great if other SF titles could be supported by pro tours also, so that everyone gets to be a part of something big on their favourite game. Moments like Hayao vs Frankie3s can never happen if we abandon old games every time a new one drops. There's room to have presence on all of these games year round, not just at EVO and one or two majors. People truly love these games, opening the door to more also means more jobs for people too, more chance for new faces to come through, more chance for people to rise up and develop themselves through opportunity and experience. SNK has managed to simultaneously run a pro tour for KOF, Samurai Showdown AND Fatal Fury: COTW, so if SNK can make that work then other publishers can too. I'm not saying any of this is easy, but since did we only do what was easy?

Most researchers have nothing on Larry Richardson. Racking up more than 130 citations in 4 years, he seemed like a scientific superstar in the making. Except the studies were gibberish—and Larry is a cat. This “exercise in absurdity” is an eye-opening look at byzantine world of scientific rank, and just how easy it is to manipulate. scim.ag/46HmdMu #InternationalCatDay

📷 ESO analysis confirms the INNA project would have a devastating & irreversible impact on the Paranal Observatory facilities. The increase in light pollution, air turbulence, vibrations & dust would degrade conditions for astronomical observations eso.org/public/news/eso2506/…
