Give him Reggie's RT @darrenrovell If this goes to 2OT, Gus might need a quick larynx replacement.

Judging by the timeline I'm going to need to look up this clip of Zlatan and Lalas

Poorly done from the French keeper

Maybe I don't understand the rules. How is that not a penalty? Big slide, misses ball, trips the offensive player... I'm on Senegal, so I'll take it, but

Can't believe the ref whistled the game when Saudi Arabia had a guy running on to the ball with only the keeper to beat.

#USMNT had 71% possession in the first half, its most in the first half of a World Cup game in the modern era.

That was definitely the funniest Referee View clip so far.

I set the Canada game to be saved/recorded in the Fox One app, so I could watch it on delay. I went to the website, cliked to "Restart" from the beginning... and the game started playing with a giant box score on the right third of the screen, showing the current score at the top

Let's assume, for argument's sake, that the Knicks really did, unlikely as it seems, win Game 4. The problem is that many, many, MANY of us simply cannot believe it. It seems for all the world like cheating. This matters, & is going to matter more.
Look, I’m sorry but I just can’t believe the Knicks came all the way back. And I bet a lot of my fellow basketball fans feel similarly. This calls into question the legitimacy of their Game Four win.

This is a nice animation. If you play baseball, you know that you should know what you are doing with the ball before it's even hit to you. You can see here that while his forward momentum took him away from the runner, he was already maneuvering to slow down and try to tag him.

Tag attempt, like you stated, begins when fielder moves towards runner Video starts when Gunnar catches the ball and thereby begins moving for a tag Clement takes 3 full strides sideways lol. Just one stride is over 3ft. Even if you delay the tag attempt, he’s still way over

In other words, the "tag attempt" arguably started before the ball even reached the fielder. Obviously they would never rule it that way, but he was trying to slow and turn for a tag almost instantaneously.

Yeah, you nailed it, autocorrect.

This seems like the crux of the loophole (if you think there is one). The runner isn't allowed to deviate from his path to avoid a tag attempt ... unless he starts the deviation early in anticipation of the attempt.

To me this seems technically legal (maybe ... I'm not totally convinced) but defeats the spirit of the rule. The runner is clearly deviating from his "natural" running path by well over 3 feet. And he started that deviation specifically to avoid a tag attempt.

Got one. I didn't realize for a while that you could change a player's position after you initially set it. Without that option, I couldn't have gotten Curry.
