Liveness rewards are over.
Validators must now earn through real contribution.
Liveness rewards for Canton validators ended today.
These were canton-network:native paid to validators just for staying online. No usage required. It was just a bootstrapping subsidy.
That phase is over. Validators now have to earn CC through real contribution: Run a Featured App or interact with one. Passive participation no longer pays.
Combined with CIP-105 locking 70% of Super Validator earnings and CIP-0104 routing Featured App rewards based on real activity, every CC entering circulation now requires real economic activity backing it.
Most L1s indefinitely subsidize validators through inflation. Canton just graduated to organic tokenomics.
Rising demand. Flatlining supply. The math is what matters.
