Today, the staff of @AzMissionNATO and @AzMilRepNATO paid tribute at the grave of an Azerbaijani soldier who fell in #Belgium during the Second World War #WW2. With pride and deep respect, we honored the memory of the millions of #victims of the war, as well as all our heroes who fought for peace, freedom, and human dignity. The war, although fought beyond the borders of 🇦🇿, touched every family in Azerbaijan. Out of the 700,000 Azerbaijanis sent to the front, nearly half never returned, many sacrificing their lives in battle. In addition to its human losses and military participation, #Azerbaijan played a crucial role in securing victory through its vital #oil resources. Azerbaijan has long been, and continues to be, among the nations contributing to international #peace and #security.

NATO Deputy Secretary General, Ms. Radmila Shekerinska (@DepSecGenNATO) is on a visit to #Azerbaijan. As part of her program, Ms. @Sekerinska visited the prestigious @ADAUniversity and met with the Vice Rector and Member of the @Milli_Majlis 🇦🇿, Dr. Fariz Ismailzade (@fismailzade). The Deputy Secretary General also met with the faculty and students of the University, engaging in a fruitful dialogue on @NATO and its core tasks, the role of the Alliance in ensuring peace and security, as well as the mutually beneficial Azerbaijan-NATO partnership within #PFP, Azerbaijan’s contributions as an active and reliable partner to the NATO-led Peace Support Operations, including its critical support in the final stage of #RSM by providing the safe evacuation of the Allied forces from #Afghanistan, as well as its contributions to the #EnergySecurity of #Europe.
