During the Christmas break at our university starting today, the BASE team will also take a break. Of course you can search BASE and sent messages and suggestions to us during this time. Messages to us will be answered starting Jan 4, 2023. Happy holidays!

Last night (CET) our academic search engine BASE suffered an outage that lasted for several hours.
We were able able to identify and address the cause of this failure, and BASE is running well again.

Fake "academic" journals pollute & confuse public discourse with misinformation.
I reviewed every article (30) published in this, um, journal.
- 30/33 push (debunked) anti-vaccine themes.
- The few that aren't about vaccines push related noise.
Always double check source!

Also today, our #search index surpassed the threshold of 310 million documents, as you can see in the chart above.
This confirms BASE as one of the most voluminous academic search engines.
#BASEsearch is a non-commercial long-term project of Bielefeld University (Library).
