A recent Valent investigation found large sums of money have been spent on an online effort to undermine support for #ULEZ before the #Uxbridge by-election, which observers say @UKLabour lost due to the clear air policy championed by @mayorofLondon #sadiqkhan check it out 👇 1/27

Whenever someone at work tries to make you do something hard, simply because "you did it last time", remember that Elrond had been to Mount Doom before. Sometimes you need to make the hobbits do the work so they stop seeing it as a zero-cost action.

I appreciate not everyone is a massive nerd. So I'm going to attempt to explain what just happened in parliament. Because it is BEYOND batshit levels of foot-shooting by Team Truss. /1

In the Tory leadership election, maybe. In the next general election, definitely not.

Cycling twitter pls help- dimly recollect 4 decent modal shift, we can’t just make walk/cycle nicer. Positive incentive not enoug, have to also make driving *less attractive*. Are there studies/proof of this, or is it just my bias?! @carltonreid @tricyclemayor @CatrionaSwanson

When I'm on my bike, I have zero interest in trying to obstruct drivers. My only priority is to take the space I'm legally entitled to so I can reach my destination safely. I recognize that many drivers will misunderstand my positioning and frankly that's their problem.

We have just had another week when the media has obsessed about what they call the UK’s national debt. There has been wringing of hands. The handcart in which we will all go to hell has been oiled. And none of this is necessary. So this is a thread on what you really need to know

I know we're all busy, but this is *such* a beautiful step-by-step to the practical action you can take to make your neighbourhood better for cycling and walking.

Speaking as an occasional 'TV Expert', this isn't a BBC problem. It's a broadcast media problem. It happens because the expert system is often self-policed. Here's a quick thread on my experience of how it mostly works.

Valuable thread re Cummings' (possibly purely distractive) recruitment drive...
So, so important, and needs wider recognition. One of my strongest memories of my first "proper" boss (Hi @DuncanBatty1 ) was about how home delivery was completely transforming customer expectation. Turns out, it may transform our neighbourhoods too.
Loved this @gdnlongread on the impact of home deliveries. How “delighting the user” can degrade physical environments, societies and - ultimately - the people it was meant to please. theguardian.com/technology/2… 👏 @Samanth_S

There is some neat work here. The result may not surprise you...
If you ever wonder "Why is 'The Brexit Party' a limited company rather than a Political Party?" Well here's a big clue: Maybe a thread, maybe I'll do some real work.
Fascinating words from Louise Winter @LifeDeathWhat - new approaches to death and funerals. More openness. Involving relatives as much want to be. Creating space and time to grieve and to remember. Watching with interest! @Humanists_UK #celebconf2019

There are misconceptions, and then there's science... It's easy to blame cyclists for breaking the rules, especially when they don't have decent infrastructure. Classic victim blaming. forbes.com/sites/carltonreid…
